But the National Alliance for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) had called on authorities to criminally charge the student behind the Snapchat post.
The principle in this verse is, in fact, what is being challenged today. The verse follows up saying, "So if you who are evil know how to give good gifts to your children. . .."
Now, I post this not to condemn anyone. Understand, the "evil" are addressed chiefly in the verse because they represent the most obstinate across the spectrum of human morality. So it necessarily encompasses the "good" as well, in that it's a learning tool for all wisdom. Key is understanding the truth in what's being illustrated, and to understand the implications for what is being done today. Do not think this is a simple verse saying a simple lesson. The key is that evil, even all of us therefore, understands good from bad, right and wrong. It is actually plain to everyone. Both God's children and satan's seed understand this by instinct. You have within your very own natural ability, even apart from Scripture, to reason to find there is, in fact, a fundamental and common morality among us all. The trend in the world is to condemn belief in right and wrong, good and evil. When you see this happening, think big, think of how this cuts across the grain of fundamental morality. Understand this is NOT about our opinion versus their opinion. This is not about religion, and it is bigger than politics, it is about recognizing and understanding the truth, and knowing where the battle lines MUST be drawn.
I believe it is ONLY from here where revolutions can be had and won.
