Ok so I asked this on r/askreddit, and I dont think people understood the question so I decided to delete it there and try a few Ask the donald.win....honestly I would rather hear your guys responses anyway so... win win in the end :P LOL

Ok so here is the setup it is legal to sign an indentured servitude contract, once signed you would retain your rights, but all the "fruits of your labor" would belong to the holder of the contract. This would be for a pre-determined period of time, and pre-determined terms, once ended you would be entitled to a pre-determined payment, which would be put into an escrow account after signing. Would you be willing to do it? If so, what would you want in return and how long would you be willing to sign it for? I want to make it clear ( in case this is taken out of context by someone not on this site) this has nothing to do with slavery/race/or "thinking its a good idea", its just a fun little thought experiment. I hope to post more of these as I think it will help provide more fun content for this site, Best wishes to everyone and thank you for taking the time to read all this!!! LOL

Man this is a weird question and I don't really understand it? Isn't this just a job?

I work for a week, you take the "fruits of my labor", and then you pay me the predetermined amount over the predetermined period of time (typically either weekly or bimonthly)?

everyone signs this "indentured servitude" contract

if im missing something explain how this is different than a job

sure sorry if I didnt make things clear, my fault. This would be different in at all times you would be "at work". You could be made to work 16 hour days, or forced to move, required to live in a certain place and not be able to quit. That is more or less the two biggest differences,You cant quit, and you dont have set hours and could be expected to be "on call" at all times, for context you can look at some of the indentured servitude contracts, which many people signed to come to the new world. If you would like links or anything let me know, I am really sorry I didnt make things more clear thanks for your response, I hope this cleared up any misunderstandings :)
