tell that to websites now collecting dashcam video anytime someone forgets to signal at a turn or make a minor traffic infraction cops don't catch. it's being harvested, run through police-style plate runs and put on blast on youtube. findbyplate.com. they're literally doxxing you just because someone is butthurt they got cutoff

I'd invite you to look at 18 USC § 119 (private citizens) and 18 U.S.C. Sec 371 (18 U.S.C. Sec 119) (government employees.)

It's not technically legal. What constitutes doxxing is somewhat gray, however. For example, posting someone's IP address isn't, but tying it to a specific address is.
