Section 230 is the Govt. regulating everyones right to sue big tech for censoring them. So, false narrative. We need to repeal 230, it's just wrong. Unfortunately all the alphabet agencies are on big tech's side.

Libertarians are largely abandoning their party for these sorts of reasons. Supporting 230 is like supporting the EPA.

It’s now illegal to pollute. You don’t need the EPA to make those laws. They’re mostly unnecessary these days. Someone pollutes and causes harm, sue. When government agencies have nothing better to do, they overreach. I’m not saying remove them completely, but their budget should be reduced significantly.

I’m for reform of section 230, not abolishment.

I’d like to clarify I’m not a libertarian. I just want a limited government.

There were very few laws in place back then to protect the environment. Environmental charities were unpopular too. Now that’s no longer the case.

Also, if a company pollutes, the government can prosecute. Simple. We have laws for that now. That’s not necessarily dependent on the EPA.

Both the EPA and 230 prevent suing companies, even when they have caused obvious harm. Read the Mises link. That’s why I made the comparison.

It’s not like the government is an innocent angel either, they’re not saviors fighting on behalf of the “little guy”, they have their own interests. The EPA has done harm of its own. That’s what government agencies do when they get too much power, which is why I support reducing their budgets.

The public utility idea is interesting. The party is full of RINOs and these bills magically disappear.

I think we agree on more than you think.

You literally can't read if you think that's what I said. I didn't say sue them for something other ppl post, I said sue them for censoring you. The fact that antifa gets to post whatever they want to, and conservatives get blocked, deleted, shadow banned etc. is wrong, and should be punished. Level the playing field. Have you heard of free speech?

The Anti-Trust laws were created to prevent situations like this. These laws have been ignored. Break up Google and Facebook. Collusion exists between the big players to destroy the small ones.
