IMHO - "stepping on the rake" was granting them an interview to begin with as 60 Minutes engages in predictable journalistic assassination - a preemptive strike back now may be totally appropriate

It was unnecessary and racist of him to call that pathetic fake indian "Pocahontas" too, wasn't it?

Trump steps on their rakes so as to break them. Exposing the lies and bias and corruption in the media has been one of his central strategies from the start, and it has served to spike the globalists's biggest guns nicely.

Yeah sure Scoobysnacks45 knows about dealing with the media and winning elections better than Trump.

Two weeks before the election he needs to be laser focused.

He is.

Rally, and push his message.

He is.

Going down the rabbit hole with Leslie Stahl is not getting us votes.

What rabbit hole? The people who watch that MSM crap aren't the ones going to his rallies. He is pushing his message, he has to push it as far as possible. And pushing the message of MSM lies to normies who previously believed them is a huge part of that, so this strategy to refute the story is a good one.
