I have daughters I think he was actually saying how fast they grow up. One night you put a sweet heart in the bed and the next morning she is a crouchy young woman. Not taking up for him but I think that's what he meant. At least I hope so.

I wish you were right but this time - I don't think so. Little girls do not grow up to be "snakes".

I know, that was just such an odd choice of words. Totally get that your sweet kid can wake up the next day a grumpy teenager, but snake? A snake describes someone who turns on you, maybe a kid who starts resisting against an abuser?

Did he think he was clever enough to have two meanings and let the joke be on us, only to have his dementia addle his brain enough to let us hear what he was really thinking?

That's what I thought he meant too; it just makes you wonder if he didn't have 2 meanings in mind. "That's just ol' Joe" doesn't always sit well anymore. Obviously it's not proof of anything on its own, but with everything posted here there's definitely something bad going on. If real proof does come out, it will add a lot of context to these weird coincidences.

Yea, that's the ham-fisted dementia-addled metaphor being made there: teenage girls are moody.
