This might be shocking to you, but the ROMAN Catholic church was the first to fall away from God's One, Holy, and Apostolic Church (now referred to as the Easter Orthodox Church) in 1054 - the event was called "The Great Schism." There were 5 centers of Christianity, each with a Patriarch, who, in line with events from the book of Acts, was considered equal, not above, any other Patriarch. The head of the Church was, and is, Christ. NO ONE ELSE - certainly not a man. The Pope decided that he should be above all others - even infallible at times - and excommunicated the Christian world. That is why it is called the ROMAN Catholic church. Just as Lucifer fell and split heaven because he wanted to be equal with God, the Pope split the Church on Earth because he wanted to be the head. No question in my mind why there is depravity happening. Trust me, it's not from God.

The pope is infallible, per Catholicism. I hope this serves as a wake up call for them that something is wrong with the prideful schism that broke them off from the Apostolic Church.

*Only when he says he's speaking about church teaching with papal infallibility.

Otherwise, nuh-uh.

Sauce - Am orthodox Catholic.

Can you put what you’re saying here another way? I’m not understanding.

If the Pope were to decree the Chicago Bears as God's favored team since the McCaskey family that owns it is Catholic, that would simply not be true, especially for the only reason that he said it.

If the Pope were to decree the age of St. Joseph at the time of Christ's birth was between 25-32 years old, and that he's making this statement as the Vicar of Christ, that could then be taken as new, established doctrine.

ANYTHING the Pope says without specifically stating that it's coming from the authority of the Chair of St. Peter is simply his opinion. Period.

That clear it up?

Not completely. The Pope is only considered "infallible" when speaking ex cathedra - pertaining only to doctrines regarding faith or morality.
