English is still compulsory with many English profs seemingly being far left leaning, and many electives I’ve taken seem to have Marxist professors at the helm..... Example, I’m Canadian. My short story prof did not go a class without dissing Trump..... I wish I were exaggerating.
Another. It was a class regarding the advancement of science and technology. We dedicated about a third of the class on climate change. It’s strange because it wasn’t until this class, really, when I started to deeply question the validity of how much an impact man made climate change is. Our climate models project temperature rise with co2 levels, but seem to forget that the Permian event, for example, had flood basal events of something like 2 million square km of surface Iava contributing to the temp, which in turnignited huge amounts of coal created from said voIcanic activity spilling onto carbonate rocks. That’s not including left over fossilized plant stuff from the Devonian period. Can’t use co2 ppm projections alone when you’re dealing with insurmountable increases in temperature directly from the source of emissions. Correlation is not causation, after all.
Like how much, I’d like to ask, is it a cause than rather some byproduct of the actual cause? And perhaps the increase in co2 measurements is merely the result of deforestation (which may be worth considering more seriously rather than the carbon emissions specifically) which not only hurts biodiversity but, also, implicitly increases the temperature cuz less shade.
Sorry for the rant, but yeah. It’s creeping into all parts of academia, and I feel the curriculum has been dumbed down to accommodate as many people as possible. In fact, I remember hearing a long time ago from a bud in architecture that there are courses now that require less math and science, and in its place, programs that do much of the calculations for you. It seems to be seeping into many majors, even ones more grounded in numbers than interpretive thinking.

American Universities and Colleges have over half a trillion dollars in endowment funds. If people want to start looking at lessening the student loan crisis in America, right there is where you start.
Well they push leftist ideology. Cancel conservative speakers. Accept money and gifts from foreign governments. Pay zero taxes. I think the government can come up with a few crimes to go after them.
90% of colleges need to be closed anyway. When everyone has a degree, what makes any of them special?
High schools need to get much better so kids don't have to go to college for four years to get a standard American job at any corp/firm out there.
College should be for the special ones and special jobs.
