When Jan 1st comes around, heathcare will begin some MASSIVE changes. People aren't ready for the shitfit that the entire healthcare system is going to throw when they have to start being transparent UPFRONT about their prices.
As an RN its extremely frustrating when almost every patient is refusing tx or arguing with me about prices which i have no idea what they cost. I had patients tell me they have been charged 100s of dollars for items like inhalers they used once during a 24 hour visit and werent sent home with.
Also our entire system we use to chart is cumbersome and slow because it is all set up to bill the shit out of you nobody really gives a fuck about your outcome only if you are happy and i get your azz out of the bed fast enough to get a new one in.
