How much experience do you have with the platform? And are you looking to build totally ground up from a stripped lower receiver or are you looking for something mostly assembled?
in most states you can get an 80% lower over the mail, and the rest of the parts too, then you can take it to a shop to have finished, put in your own serialized finished lower or get a CNC machine and print your own ghost gun to finish off the 80%.
It is so easy. I built mine 25 years ago in my rented room with no special equipment. I had no experience with guns previously.
I bought the upper complete, and advise you to do that too, as that is where tight tolerances come into play and special tools are required.
All I had was an exploded diagram of an AR. It was enough.
+1 on getting a complete upper. It will make your build much easier.
youtube has got some great build resource videos.. what to get , etc.

This is a good resource to start with:

I've shot plenty of them and broke them down to clean, but never have built my own.
