NYC Restaurants and Bars Can Now Add a 10 Percent COVID Surcharge to Bills. I know they're struggling, but this will only turn people off even more from ordering take-out from local restaurants. This will absolute further destroy any non-chain restaurants/bars moving forward

The point of a surcharge is to hide the cost until you pay for your meal. They have always had the right to adjust prices. Which is why you won't see this happen in many cities. This is what destroyed medical billing.
