OMGosh that was trippy
You gotta see movie. Called Heavy Metal
That's not where that song goes! (That flying scene should be either the Bernstein score or Black Sabbath, and the bar scene is Devo.)
>I'm sort of an expert on that movie
The Don Felder song goes where the B17 bomber gets over-run with zombies : )
(But the commies look pretty accurate)
I still haven't seen this movie!! I need to go look it up!
It's a goofy guilty-pleasure pre-MTV sort of thing : ) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Heavy_Metal_(film) (Like the magazine, it's cartoons but not really for kids due to nudity/violence etc.) Rife with cut-corners/executive meddling/production hell issues. Most of my love for this movie comes from the intent of the artists and the care they put into it, despite the cost-cutting "efforts" and other silliness imposed by the Embezzlement Specialists at the movie studio.
I was a big fan of the magazine before the movie came out (it was the precursor to the modern graphic-novel stuff like "V For Vendetta" etc.) Although Heavy Metal (the magazine) has been very influential on many movies (if not outright ripped-off-from,) few writers/directors give proper credit to the source of their plagiarisms.
>Bonus moar fun with that:
Frequent contributor Moebius did the cover art for a French release of "Are You Experienced" and "Axis Bold As Love," the Jimi Hendrix albums. Here's some of his Jimi Hendrix art, putting Jimi into the alien-desert landscapes typical of Moebius' work.
