I've resigned that there are two reasons why other countries leaders don't like Trump. The first is the obvious, he's holding them to a higher standard than any other president which is a stark contrast to the "walk all over the president" status that they've had in the past.

The other is really about fake news and distracting people. If I was a leader of a country during a pandemic, I would try to paint other countries as doing worse by comparison so that I can say "see, we're doing better than them so ...". But it doesn't even matter if we are or aren't doing better, it's just a narrative that gets pushed to deflect criticism.
