I think it's hard for the Commission on Debates to just create new debates to satisfy the traditional 3 Prez debates. It takes time to get venue, security, and all the overhead that goes with it. So unless Trump and Biden agree to the Rogan podcast debate, this is likely the final
I think it's important to note that the "Commission" is just a private club of people that want to feel a lot more important than they really are. The "tradition" of them getting boatloads of money for this every four years isn't really necessary anymore now that we have the internet and the candidates can speak directly to the people all they want.
All the old-guard professional punditry class are freaking out in no small part because President Trump is the first President to eschew much of the now unnecessary campaign spending. Just one more example of him being a competent business man rather than a professional politician that has no concept of the value of other people's money.
