CBS already had their deceptively edited cut that makes Trump look terrible. By releasing this, CBS now has only two paths. They can go ahead and run with their slanderous version and people get to compare it to the unedited version and say "Holy shit, did they really edit it this way? They really are the enemy."
Or they have to do exactly what Trump wants them to do and frantically recut it into something fair. If they do that, all their uninformed elderly viewers will get a real look at Trump, which they can't allow.
