Those homes have no legal authority to keep the residents there.
The son probably has no choice but to have her there though. Maybe he can't accommodate her needs, medicine, therapy, and such. Changing diapers and tons of other stuff that require taking care of the very elderly.
If residents or their family don't follow the rules they'll get kicked out and could get trespassing charges if he walked in and refused to leave. Probably worse if it was a Dem DA charging him.

serious question, do these homes really have that much control? What recourse do they have for "customers" who don't follow the rules? Eviction?
