A Register story day suggest US Law enforcement has had a lot more warrantless access to locked cell phones than previously thought, and it's been used for cases as serious as a $70 debt.

This could be a useful tool to fight crime or a fairly horrible future. Think about this under a Democrat administration. These searches were warrantless.
