They are out of Southfield, MI with a couple more datacenters around the world last I checked. I actually toured their MI datacenter. I've used them for a variety of managed dedicated servers and cheap shared hosting for personal site for damn near 10 years now.
Only complaint I have is that on my original account I need a more recent version of MySQL for something and they said last year they were updating to MariaDB...it's been a year and still no update, but that project got shelved due to COVID so not a big loss.
Yeah, 100% agreed. Please let us donate to fund these servers! Not taking donations is honorable but it really doesn't help the situation. Hell, GEOTUS takes donations from us supporters, so why cant TD take donations from us too?
I hear what you’re saying but it’s the attacks not the service. The mods are above reproach in my opinion. IFeel your frustration and I would love to donate as well but you have to respect their integrity
Unfortunately often just adding servers will not fix the problem. It comes down to a lot of very smart, highly paid people figuring out how to get everything working together.
The fact that the mods have been keeping this together for as big as it is means that they are challenging billion dollar web companies in terms of capacity and expertise.

It's gotta be done. They can't have the site crash for 2 and a half hours every time something happens to drive up traffic and think that will have to do.
Agreed, but it's probably a fairly difficult bottleneck, just adding more servers isn't the answer past a certain traffic volume. With that said, they definitely need to architect as this is a huge piece of election high energy.
