I agree. Only problem was she would try to redirect to another "follow up" before Trump could directly respond to Biden's accusations. Saw him actually taking a few notes though to help remember, so it seemed to work.

Bingo. She was more looking out for her future. I think she realized that being considered a “moderate” can get you paid by both sides. She still interrupted President Trump way too many times to bail out Sleepy Joe. Don’t think she deserved that compliment from President Trump.

She took lessons out of the Wallace and Savannah disaster. Those were abominations. I was really pleased with the way she let them go back and forth even when the responses were becoming repetitive and becoming unproductive. Did didn’t let her bias show. She did bring up foreign policy. Thank God! She even brought up NK, which I’ve been begging for. NK needs to be remembered for what is was, imminent nuclear war. That was an amazing moment and I’ve got to credit her with allowing that to be discussed in depth. She also didn’t Candy Crowley Trump with falsely discrediting the Hunter laptop allegations.

It left me feeling good.

I agree his manner in both debates was planned. The game plan for the first debates was to bully Biden, show the world Biden is soft. The second debates was was about being Presidential and picking apart Biden with facts.

Both strategies are meant to pick apart Biden just to different crowds. First debate was for the his base, second was for the undecideds.

12
FireannDireach 12 points ago +12 / -0

This. First debate, he came out guns blazing and talked AT Joe.

Last night, he talked TO Joe, and while he was slicing hunks of old fag meat off his bones, he was nice about it. He even showed the stuttering old prick empathy - something the libs insist he's incapable of.

Joe was just a mean, shitty old man from the first moment...then the drugs wore off.

djentropyhardcore 8 points ago +8 / -0

I agree with you. The media narrative (which in this case is somewhat accurate) is that the challenger always "wins" the first debate with an incumbent. Trump was having none of that, so he brute forced Joe into silence. Absolutely planned and executed perfectly. Nobody remembers anything Joe said at the first debate.

I love it when Trump smiles! He had such a wide and happy smile throughout the debate. I don't know if it is my bias talking but honestly when Trump smiles, he just seems so happy and genuine. His smile goes from ear to ear. Now, when Biden smiles, he shows his teeth and looks like a troll. It's uncanny and sometimes, when he is looking straight at the camera, it is downright terrifying.

Can anyone share my sentiment or am I just biased?

She was much more fair than expected but still interrupted the president several times while never interrupting Joe.

9
Transgirl_4_Trump 9 points ago +9 / -0

She was pretty fair. Though at this point I think that us pedes would consider Blackbeard to be 'pretty fair minded and reasonable' compared to what we've had to deal with the past few years.

7
RenaissanceOfHope 7 points ago +7 / -0

Debates should be at least 4 hours if not 8.

10
i90east 10 points ago +10 / -0

Biden wouldn't last four hours. He was drained after an hour and a half, checking his watch to see if it was almost time to go back to his basement.

6
plastic_Strawman 6 points ago +6 / -0

Joe, looking at his watch: "If this keeps going, I won't have time for my Ovaltine before I have to go nappy by."

53
Libertas_Vel_Mors 53 points ago +54 / -1

Compared to the other two debate hacks, she actually was pretty fair and even-handed.

This does not speak well for Chris Wallace.

59
RaginJake379 59 points ago +59 / -0

14
PosterIsDead 14 points ago +14 / -0

True. But even President Trump gave her a compliment.

8
kang989 8 points ago +8 / -0

It's all relative. Plus, Trump acted all evening as if he knew that he had to come off as polite, composed and "presidential" to win over the fabled suburban women voters. He wasn't going to give them any ammo to manipulate the emotional set into voting Biden because "Orange Man Mean!"

7
cleancutcutlet 7 points ago +7 / -0

Maybe because he already unloaded on Leslie.

Thank you, Leslie!

10
Kompromat 10 points ago +10 / -0

She really shouldn't be overly praised. The debate was editorially framed to disadvantage Trump with the choice of topics, which mirrored Dem platform priorities. Regarding the low bar... it's too bad it seems unique when Hunter Biden is even allowed to come up. The Bobulinski press conference might have made ignoring it impossible. Many TD.win people were starting to really openly hate on Giuliani/Bannon Thursday. But the Bobulinski appearance deserves credit as pretty significant.

6
Transgirl_4_Trump 6 points ago +6 / -0

Yea, the unabomber is pretty fair minded and reasonable compared to what we've had to deal with the past few years. She clearly was trying to be at least a little fair and it showed. Now her career will probably be ruined by the leftist mob, poor girl.

willswim4pizza 28 points ago +31 / -3

Yes...but a lot of this was purely because Trump was the aggressor and wanted to speak far more often. Biden basically didn't say anything substantial the entire night except to struggle through answering each question coherently.

If she never interrupted Trump then he'd never stop talking and burying Biden TBH. And that's what we love about him.

Mics were only muted for the first two minutes of a primary question response. (And for a couple random seconds of Trump talking that was quickly unmuted. Dunno what that was)

Exactly. She never talked over Joe, but constantly spoke over the President. Very disrespectful.

28
LiquidAsylum 28 points ago +35 / -7

idk how this site keeps saying she was good. Better than Chris Wallace, sure but I don't know how we can honestly say good.

When Trump stopped to say she was doing a good job I was very surprised because she kept talking over him but not Biden, yet I guess this IS the most fair debate moderator Trump has ever had which is SAD!!!

32
ADAM_SCHITT 32 points ago +33 / -1

It was by far the best we could have hoped for from a liberal moderator. She helped Joe a little bit but it wasn't the full 1 vs 2 like we expected. It allowed Trump to shine since he didn't have to argue with 2 people.

8
Randomite 8 points ago +9 / -1

Tbh, Trump would have just kept talking until she stopped him. That’s a debate strategy, monopolize the time and the audience will ‘assume’you won the debate, regardless of content. She was appropriate with her interruptions to end his points. Would like to see the final ‘time speaking’ tally on this debate.

7
permissible_missile 7 points ago +9 / -2

Yeah and I don't know how people can say she was that bad. Compared to virtually the entirety of the media in terms of their treatment of Trump, she gave him the 5 star experience with a happy ending. I know "the bar is low". That's life. Get with the program...

4
LiquidAsylum 4 points ago +7 / -3

Nah I wont pretend that a moderator should be neutral. She cut off trump dozens of times, outside his 2 minutes he was constantly talking over her to get a word out yet she would then turn to Biden and say "would you like to respond?" and be quiet.

Overly biased moderators is not a program I will ever "get with" and it's a problem to normalize it. Sure if it swung slightly left then another time right we could understand it's just because people are human but are trying, no it's ALWAYS leftists who moderate debates and that needs to change.

11
permissible_missile 11 points ago +11 / -0

I mean the truth is Trump is way more alpha and commanding than Biden will ever be, and what you're describing is literally moderation, it's what's supposed to happen.

Trump, as awesome as he is, needs to be reined in a little in that kind of situation or he will steamroll the whole room with his big dick energy. While we may enjoy and appreciate that, that isn't what a debate is supposed to be about.

She did a great job by this metric: both of them were fully able to express their points.

5
tcriv 5 points ago +5 / -0

she wasn't good like a truly neutral or patriotic moderator would be, but she was outstanding relative to what we expect from these hostile media scumbags.

It was like when everyone was like “Joe did great at the debate” just because he could put semi coherent thoughts together.

6
Dahnald2020 6 points ago +6 / -0

Same energy as "Joe's DNC speech was so good. He spoke for almost 30 minutes without mentioning leg hair, roaches, or corn pop"

5
TheThreeSeashells 5 points ago +5 / -0

He didn't even do that. Then when he WAS semi-coherent he was telling the country he was going to shut the country down again, kill the oil industry and fracking, and give amnesty to 11 million illegal aliens. I think they would have preferred he went into one of his mumbling, incoherent rants a lot more often.

Instead they essentially had him going back and forth between putting his foot in his mouth and rambling on like the dementia patient he is. Anyone who watched that and claimed it was even a draw is a liar and they know it.

4
PelosisDentureWater 4 points ago +4 / -0

I'm convinced that the Dems have a strategy in writing somewhere that involves understanding that the media will cover for absolutely anything and everything that comes out about Biden or that he does to himself. Just have him go out there and either plagiarize Trump's actual ideas or spout NPC talking points, or appeal to emotion or "folksiness" and just get through it. The media will whitewash all of it and pivot everything they can toward Trump instead. If that Ukraine thing had been with Trump, it would have dominated the news cycle for a solid year, at least.

His voters don't care. They just don't want Trump and they'll shoot their own country in the head to get some guy who sounds like their grandpa but who is terminally weak and corrupt over a person who is at times flat out hard to like but who has been an incredible net positive for the country. I think there's a personality thing with people who go for the Democrats where they are attracted to weakness somehow. So many of their candidates are so soft and incapable, and their voters ACTUALLY buy that these politicians care about all their stupid woke social issues, instead of prioritizing the money/power part of the job.

Still no debate question about his stance on gun control. Joe Biden has currently the most radical stance on gun control from any politician in history. He states on his website he wants to outright ban online sales of even gun parts, and even state wide mandatory buybacks (confiscations)

The moderator didn’t want to ask him that because she knows how radical is and would jeopardize his votes in the swing states, all of which are very pro gun at the moment

Huge disappointment, if you’re campaigning on banning guns, the people deserve to hear your argument during the debates

Exactly. We'll see if the campaign tries to walk it back today.

4
richmomz 4 points ago +4 / -0

Someone without dementia surely would have caught the hint (especially with Trump goading him over it too). So of course Biden plowed ahead - lol.

THE SCRANTON KID

10
ddragon 10 points ago +10 / -0

It wasn’t even that. She was trying to avoid it all together and was pivoting to a new topic, and Biden took the bait and talked over her to answer Trump’s question. It was just pure disappointment in her voice

6
richmomz 6 points ago +6 / -0

She sounded like a disappointed mother who had just caught her toddler doodling on the walls with crayons: "Why would you do that.... sigh"

Even if you cut out energy, the modern world is hugely dependent on oil for plastics and fertilizers and other chemicals. So much it's not even funny.

5
Tardi_B 5 points ago +5 / -0

We need more nuclear, which is far more reliable and has far less of a footprint than solar/wind, but operating plants are shutting down every year while only one new plant is currently being built in the US.

Still need oil/gas for other purposes, but nuclear would provide the cleanest and safest baseload.

2
DahRage 2 points ago +2 / -0

This. I don't understand why nuclear is having so much trouble coming into the spotlight. If we want to talk emissions, stop bringing up renewables - nuclear is much better for the economy, the infrastructure, and the environment.

4
NuclearDreams 4 points ago +4 / -0

But muh "Costa Rica is 100% green energy why can't we be!"

Cause our country doesn't exist in a tropical rainforest with tons of rainfall every year to fuel hydroelectric power. Also despite being a country that thrives on renewable energy they're still a third world shithole.

Because the millions of good paying jobs will be making petroleum free plexiglass for the schools which will reopen in 2025

12
ddragon 12 points ago +12 / -0

I really don’t think people realize how much petroleum is in everything around us. It’s like “if we just get rid of cars, we don’t need oil anymore!”

6
HockeyMom4Trump 6 points ago +6 / -0

Is that before or after they make all the plexiglass for all the other businesses?

Did she actually say that?

8
lurkwellmyfriends 8 points ago +8 / -0

Yes. Excited utterance of something not scripted before hand. She literally could not help herself.

It was a facepalm moment for her and all of the handlers / evil conspirators. Good job on picking this puppet with a massive ego though, Team Globo-Gym.

The bar for for the moderator was set so incredibly low, that she was actually able to moderate unscathed.

Honestly, if this had been a conservative moderator, the left would be flipping out that she was too easy.

5

Pure gold.

5
SludgeWarehouse 5 points ago +5 / -0

It is pretty sad when her performance last night is viewed as fair and respectful when it actually wasn't. Sure, if you compare it to Wallace and Guthrie it was better in that she wasn't as antagonistic and better at being sly with her interruptions but they were still there. She still allowed sloe joe all the time in the world but kept trying to usher Trump out the door, so to speak.

I don't disagree with that. I just think we need to start demanding actual conservative moderators for these debates instead of different flavors of the left.

The left needs to watch Michael Moore’s documentary, the guy they idolize. Even he admitted the by products of solar and wind farms trash the environment far more than oil.

2
BadManOrange 2 points ago +2 / -0

Solar is great in theory, however, it's not efficient enough yet and we also have the problem of them only lasting 20 or so years. With innovation over time I do think we'll see them become more common and maybe even get to a point where homes and business that don't have huge energy requirements can all generate their own energy without having to rely on monopolistic power companies.
