Wait for it....they will tell you soon that Democrats and Republicans flipped sides at some point. They will tell you Southern Dixiecrats became Republicans. Dinesh D'Souza has the receipts on that....and it is a fabrication.
The fact that you don't get exposed to the full breadth of literature should not daunt you. Nor should it deter you from critical analysis of the literature offered. Protest your grade if you are penalized, publicly if need be.
The classics used to be taught. They are tearing down thousands of years of wisdom in service of a singular world view. My parent's saw this sort of thing happening to me in the 1980's!!! Sent me to summer camp at the St. Thomas More University, because we are Catholic. Perhaps something like that would offer additional outlets for you.
