I say they set up a socialist utopia, and fence it off as a test. The conditions are if it works, people can move in afterwards and other places can try it too (with a fence, no exits). If it doesn’t work, Mad Max Thunderdome time. They would need to develop their own currency, finance system, industry, trade, no piggybacking on anything from the old United States; and no firearms.
OK, I rescind that one - same with Eastern vs Western Washington and Eastern versus western Oregon; A lot of Commies in one small, central place will crash the entire state...
