My dear wife stopped working when my youngest was born (my oldest was 2 at the time). I am fortunate in that I was able to provide for everyone at the time... by working a part-time job on top of my full-time job. By the time my youngest turned 3, I made enough to just work one job, and it's been that way ever since with only one short interruption. 20 years later, and I'm damned glad I was able to do that for her.
The kids are grown and on their own these days, but just now, she bopped over to my home office with a small plate of homemade cookies. They're still warm from the oven.
But yeah, I'm sure that corporate burnout is so much better, ladies! (hint - it's not.)
