This is super gross, but when I was in college someone showed up at a Halloween party dressed as a giant paper mache penis that squirted liquid out the top. It was hilarious! Do people even do dumb shit like this anymore? It feels like twenty year olds are all perpetually offended. Sad!

Ralph Northam, the Democrat Governor of Virginia, was also exposed for wearing blackface and even standing next to a friend in a KKK outfit. He's still in office. A smattering of Democrats hinted that perhaps he should resign, but once it became clear that the scandal was going to fade away without repercussion to the Party, they quickly forgot all about it and it was never mentioned again.

They are obviously lying. This was his yearbook page, the guy looks exactly like him and the denial doesn't name the person who actually did it if it wasn't him and doesn't provide an explanation as to why it was on his yearbook page.

I know it's play by their rules they made them we apply them in situations like this, but it really makes me angry that this is a thing. Hopefully this changes at some point and we can go back to just being able to have a good time.

Was there ever such a point? Pretty sure dressing as a nazi has always offended a bunch of people with the exception of depicting nazis in plays/movies/tv shows.
Yeah, America once had a great sense of humor. We made fun of everything and everyone. I dressed as a gay pirate in my youth, I was neither gay nor a pirate but I ran around saying things like I’ll plunder yer booty and I still think it’s funny. Dressing as a character doesn’t make you that thing. 2020 not a chance because I’m either offending gay people and pirates or I could be mistaken for a real gay pirate, quite the intersectional minority I hear.
I understand and remember those days, but even then there was still a limit and dressing like a nazi was still frowned upon/made people uncomfortable/offended people.
