I’ve met a lot of older Japanese who have a lot of praise for Trump mainly because of his stance on China. A lot of people were excited when he came to Tokyo. The American news outlets were criticizing Trump for awarding that giant trophy at a sumo tournament but the local media and most people here thought it was awesome.

Trump handled himself beautifully at the Sumo Championships. He was well coached, and is one smart and sensitive student of such things. I was SO proud of him!
It's almost like international business executives have practice interacting with people all over the world... Actual, "let's make deals" practice, not some underpaid staffer trying to teach an etiquette class to a politician who has no vested interest in who or what the people are that they're meeting.
