hmm... Interesting. I went the other way. I was always a strong athiest type and absolutely couldn't bring myself to believe and then the unbelievable happened and I was saved by the almighty himself and unded up believing in what I had thought couldn't be believed.

I would try to explain how but im sure id look like a fool trying to explain it to you if I didn't have 3 hours to really iron it out.

I found that the simulation hypothesis allows you to stay rationalist and still believe in an higher order, in providence and that this whole clown show is there for a reason, even if we haven't figured out what that reason is. Because someone would have to be the architect of such a simulation, and he would have created it with intent. It fits amazingly with christianity, some gnostic sects almost said it out clearly.
