California is the home state of my mom and her side of the family, some of whom were descendants from the original westward pioneers in the mid 1800s.

The only family that I have out there now live in San Diego and they are going to be leaving for Texas in a few years after living there and in Camarillo for 50+ years.

My grandmother is from Oakland and she graduated from UC Berkley. Almost all of my family and extended family are currently conservative Trump supporters.

My dad is an immigrant from Jamaica who grew up in a lower-middle class part of Brooklyn, New York. He recently said that he would never go back to New York City, even though a lot of his more liberal family members still live there and on Long Island.

People used to move from places like California and New York to places like Colorado, Virginia, and North Carolina 25 or so years ago because these places were more fiscally conservative places to live back then.

Fast forward to today, and ALL three of these states have growing liberal governments and, at least in the case of Virginia, skyrocketing taxes.

And so now a lot of people that I know in Hampton Roads today are saying that they want to or are trying to move to Florida or Nevada, even though Hampton Roads is a large conservative stronghold in southeast Virginia.

I guess my point is that in our modern energetic fight for liberty, lessons learned too late about the failings of progressivism inevitably leave a victory on the table for those that alter the rules to gain and retain more control.

One by one each state is being liberalized and usurped by a committed opponent that refuses to give up power once it is acquired.

In the continuously corrupting system, the conditions become too hostile even for people who are merely moderate in their political leanings to the left.

And so these partially brainwashed former serfs trek on out to the more liberating homes of entrepreneurship and home ownership.

These moderate liberals will inevitably learn the lesson that their ideology was the reason that their former home was unlivable, but by then it will be too late

For years after moving away they kept voting for a government that reminds them of the world that they came from and that resonates with their political leanings.

The word 'change' can often describe and accompany one of the most destructive pathways that overcomes a system as precious as ours: This pathway is that of hubris.

In this context, hubris retains the notion that ideas existing in one's mind about how things should work are always given priority, and definitively outweigh that which already exists and stands in their way.

When the lesson is learned that someone was wrong all along, who takes responsibility for the wrought that they are leaving behind?

My family lived in these liberalizing states as conservatives, and they left those states as conservatives.

Trust the founding documents because they summarize the failings of EVERY major governing body from history in order to finally correct for the mistakes that were made for governance in the New World.
