People who studied: medicine, engineering, trades, no studies but work hard - some are libs some not, are pretty normal, in stable relationships, generally feel good, earn well.
2)Studied art, music, liberal arts, or nothing but don't aspire beyond a min mage job - they don't put in any effort, buy expensive shit on credit, severe tds
As a middle aged guy that had a friend, with a band that was "definitely gonna make it bro" into my late 20s. I would like to tell you something. Do yourself a favor and yeet group 2 with a trebuchet. You'll save time and grief.
In my tech job I found 75% of millennials want high paying jobs, promos every few months but do not want To Work for it at all.
I’m mean if I expect them to actually do something. Generally speaking I see them ‘working’ about 2-3 hours/ day and cashing a 8 hr / day paycheck.
Sadly parents need to stop coddling their kids. Parent also need to pay attention to the School system brainwash that the best country ever in the world is bad. It is not! Everyone wants to come here because it is the best country in the world.
also, these are the people who complain about "too many people on the earth" & "we need a new plague".
Well we got a plague and they start crying, "Wear a mask!" fucking pitiful.
I always thought it was funny when people laughed at the avocado toast comment. It's funny because it only sounds ridiculous but it's fuckin' true! Millennials balk at consumerism but are straight up power consumers. I remember as a kid having a house to live in but we never had the cool shit. We didn't get cable until the mid-90s. We never flew anywhere. We went out to eat like, tops, once a month to places like Cocos. We weren't poor. Now everyone is a damn foodie. They all have fast internet. Eat out multiple times a week. Slack in the lazy river of consumerism luxury but live in a damn apartment. You CAN buy a house but you have to put a lot of money down to get a mortgage that is 2/3s of your apartment's rent. Sure housing prices are high af but the real problem is living within your means and having savings. Can't do that if you have to have the latest bullshit and a massive food budget.
Right now is the first time I’m buying new stuff. All my apartments were filled with hand me downs and 2nd hand store stuff. I’m bristling at every purchase although it is a good feeling to know I can afford it with cash and not credit. I’m only here because I never bought shit and rather than sprinkling glitter on a turd I’m actually buying an off the shelf polished turd for my house.
I disagree with the poster. Social collapse is probably the only thing that could save us (or at least, seen as such) because of the immobility of your average American. It really does feel like that while Trump saved our asses in the short term, in the long term defeat is still on the horizon and nothing will be done about it because most people just want bread and circuses. They need a fire lit under their asses.
The buy a new phone thing every year triggered me. I am so tired of planned obsolescence and my Iphone starting to work like shit every year and a half because they keep building more robust updates to the OS that outpaces its capabilities. Give me updates specific to my phones capabilities!!!! Is samsung as bad as apple? Because its Iphone that I am having this issue with. Any recommendations anyone?
I know 4 male millennials. Three of them call their parents or grandparents if they have a flat tire. The fourth doesn't own a car. How long do you think these guys would survive in a societal collapse?
American privilege is not understanding how bad things can get for the poor and unprepared during a collapse. Tons of dead seniors, no money for social security, no money for charity, meals on wheels isnt a thing, no family to support... bleak.
The burn it down part is pretty simple, though. It's the climate change crap. They kept telling kids that they wouldn't live to be old because their parents destroyed the Earth.
So if you have no future, why not lash out and destroy it all? Everything's dead anyway.
It's terrible what we've allowed them to do to our youth. We can never let the left take hold of our government again. As it is, it will take several presidential elections to reverse the damage.
I agree completely.. we are at a crossroads where future generations can be enslaved or free from the actions we take today.. I know one, they scream science is real and forget it is paid for.. they focus on BLM, free college and healthcare, the globalhomo shit is the fear porn on top, the horse blinders and bit to keep them moving to the MSDNCCP whips.
I’m seventy years old, a “boomer” to you, and I was raised by a not particularly “socially sensitive” family. I was always taught that it was demeaning both to the object of the epithet and myself. I have never felt the need to belittle others to make myself feel better.
They aren't aware. I had the following conversation with a class once:
"You guys know about the Holocaust right?"
"Yes!" (many kids)
"OK, how many Jews died in the Holocaust?"
"6 million." (several kids)
"Have you ever heard of the Great Leap Forward famine in China?"
(silence - note, several Chinese kids in class)
"How many died in the Great Leap Forward famine?"
(dead silence)
"Well I'll tell you, according to the latest scholarship, it was between 50 and 70 million. IOW, TEN TIMES as many people died because of this COMMUNIST policy, than died in the Jewish Holocaust, and you've never HEARD of this event. What does that tell you?"
Later, I got a thank you email from one of the kids' moms who was a conservative.
I am a millennial. My friends split to 2 groups:
2)Studied art, music, liberal arts, or nothing but don't aspire beyond a min mage job - they don't put in any effort, buy expensive shit on credit, severe tds

Thanks for the advice. Thats a lesson I def learned the hard way. They are more like acquaintances to me now
Some people with art degrees male a very decent living, but you need web and marketing skills. Learn to code, or build robots.
That's weird, someone on 4chan said "n word" instead of just saying the actual N word.
Their standards are slipping. Pretty soon they'll be giving money to charity and listening to Jordan Peterson podcasts
I’m offended, you forgot “mick”, “mackerel snapper” and “papist”. It”s microaggresion, I tell you...
LOL mackerel snapper
I genuinely don't know that one
Fish on Fridays for the Papists. As we’ve seen lately in the senate, Catholics are still viewed with suspicion.
G'damn PAPISTS!!!
If only they could understand how short their lifespans would be with no government to protect them.
If society does collapse I will literally be hunting leftists for sport. I can't think of a better way to spend the Apocalypse.
Theyre oblivious to how the real world works, they have been completed and totally isolated from reality their entire lives.

Use your own brain.

The N-word? Heck, they get triggered if you say "sexual preference"!

I put 20% of every paycheck into an IRA. I'm a Gen X'er and my retirement plan is saving money conscientiously for the future.
It's all so tiresome.

"soy my retirement is ... "
If you struggle to survive in the modern western world, you will not make it through a societal collapse.
I’m a millennial I’m 23 idk if I count but I’m doing pretty good right now thank you capitalism 👍🏻

They probably just have a shit ton of debit, student or otherwise, and think it will be like the end of Fight Club.
Yay! No more debit!
Hate to tell ya this...disliking the N word predates milenials by a long time.
"Hey I'm unhappy with America, let's burn it all down.. oh wait someone said the n word"
Yeah, okay. I see that.

If you can get taxpayers to pay for college, you can charge them anything. Just look at the military industrial complex.
