Agreed.

I believe we're already in WWIII... the weapons are just different.

China has purchased our land, taken our jobs, is smuggling illegal fentanyl across the border, sending pallets of counterfeit bills, owns our media companies, control our capitalists for access to their markets and they have purchased our politicians.

They're attacking and successfully destroying our nation without firing a shot.

Mutually assured destruction. Wars between nuclear nation's are no longer fought on a battlefield.

We have been in a world war.

China needs to be wiped from this earth. No need for any humans to die fighting, just strategically bomb them into oblivion. Collectively, their borders should be closed and invaders mowed down on sight. Glass the entire country and scuttle any ships capable of holding refugees. The chinese are incapable of assimilating into the world. Once the world sees communism will NEVER be accepted, they just might shape up.

You think if we landed a crushing blow to china that ANYONE would come to their aid?

I'd help... by programming a drone swarm system. Imagine you have 4-10 drones flying in a flock and sharing intel as they fly. They'd be armed with some sort of gun or cannon, and can fire without having vision on the target themselves, but rather rely on the live data of others.

They could be controlled either by a pilot or a operate automatically - the pilot would assign orders (similar to how RTS games work) and mark targets for kill, ally, civilian or unknown. In his view the data they collect is aggregated, so they might have some kind of see-through video stream.

While all of this is going on, the data collected will be used for machine learning, so that at some point they can operate fully on their own. And as an intermediate step: The drones only have to be instructed when they have an encounter.

But I'd implement a special mode, just in case: MASSACRE - for the given time, kill every human in sight immediately and reject all communication outside of their swarm. Deployed deep within enemy territory, the damage they cause is limited to hostile forces.

Another layers of complexity come with hostile hacking attempts, communication disruption measures, other hostile drones, espionage and theft. For the software related aspects I'd need a team of ~10 people and 6-18 months. It would be of challenging difficulty in several domains, but the technology necessary already exists and works somewhat well enough.

I am a Libertarian Hungarian/German, but the extermination of communism has priority above all else. So if you want to invent new modern military level weaponry against CHINA, and have the funding, call me. ;)

Maenard 11 points ago +12 / -1

Let's start with some memes and stuff. Maybe the murder drones can wait, eh? We have a bad history of a president killing american citizens with drones, so its understandable why you wouldn't know about it. I like the enthusiasm, but Sarah and John Conner stopped Skynet, so I think we are good.

6
PurestEvil 6 points ago +6 / -0

Everything can be used for evil. That should be no major concern.

Skynet was a fictional failure. We learned from that. We can do better!

IlxTheGreat 4 points ago +4 / -0

Oh come on. One low level EMP Strike would clear the swarm. Then you're done. If you didn't want to do that? well a net of piano wire would make any airborne drone toast. Think tactically instead of strategically. I'm not even including accidents like a tornado or a hurricane....or a downdraft.

3
PurestEvil 3 points ago +3 / -0

I will consider these potentials flaws.

EMP is not an easily accessible technology, so their usage is limited. While they'd probably be effective, the cost to damage ratio might be quite bad.

Setting up piano wires only to eventually entangle drones is quite bothersome and probably useless - especially if they are detected before they do anything. It would catch one drone at best, before others are alerted. The total territory you'd need to wire, and that at a high altitude would make that near impossible.

Tornadoes, hurricanes, downdrafts are rather rare phenomenons. Weather intel could counter these issues - but sensors might provide sufficient warning as well.

See? We are getting somewhere! It's a good start!

My family came here in the 40s after getting out of a USSR satellite by some miracle. Grandparents were serfs, parents finished college, our generation is pretty well off.

We’re white but...

You think we give a shit about American slavery?

You think we give a shit that American blacks “had it rough”?

Get over it Tyrone. Asking for victim points and handouts is the most pathetic shit I’ve ever seen.

RonJoner 7 points ago +7 / -0

it's bizarre. My favorite shit is when some angry black lectures about slaves' kids being born into slavery. Our family came from a place where it was serfs going back 1000 years. But muh 400 years. Fuck outta here with this.

my grandpa came here as a kid with no education to speak of. worked as a plumber assistant and eventually a plumber. Lived in a dump in brooklyn. Better believe his kids went to college.

American blacks - those that complain about whitey anyway - are the sorriest people on Earth. A North Korean peasant tries harder.

Good grief! She’s 104 years old! You have to know that at some point somethings gonna get you, and at 104, she’s beaten the odds for at least 30 years. How much harm could possibly be done by letting her see her family?

18
deplorabillybot 18 points ago +18 / -0

Got into a debate with a covid coward, and I brought up the 94% comorbidity statistic. He responded with some study that claimed people who died of covid would have lived an additional 14 years on average. I don't care how long somebody practiced medicine - they can't honestly tell me that they're positive that an 80 year old with covid, pneumonia, and possibly other illnesses, could have potentially lived a few more months, let alone years.

5
Watermaker67 5 points ago +5 / -0

Yup! Anyone who has a doctor predict they have “X” number of years to live needs to see if they can get it in writing! At 104 years old, sending a family member with bubonic plague in to see her really wouldn’t shorten her life. Of course I’m not saying that should happen, but with life expectancy at around 75 years give or take...she’s got her money’s worth so to speak.

This is my home town and it's making alot of folk angry.

There's hardly any virus in the area.

Cant they set up perspex screened visiting rooms (like in prisons)?

Latest news from the government here is we've to have a 'digital Christmas'. (online meetings only)

No one I know will obey this law.

I realize this is anecdotal, but my friend lost his mother a couple months ago - not from COVID-19, but from loneliness. She was living in a nursing home, and her health rapidly deteriorated starting in March. The cure is truly worse than the disease.

17
TuckerCarlsonsTie 17 points ago +17 / -0

Listening to the local news this morning, you’d never guess the cure is worse than the disease. You’d guess COVID is killing tens of millions of people at a time. You’d think Kamala’s 220 million or Pedo Joe’s 200 million numbers were accurate. Journalism is dead, the news lies constantly, and our politicians need to be drug out and tarred and feathered. They need to be embarrassed. Who the hell will answer for the amount of elderly they’ve killed ON PURPOSE because they’ve lost the VITALLY IMPORTANT human connection to family and loved ones!? What about the kids that have anxiety and commit suicide because the news and politicians tell them they are PETRY DISHES OF DEATH!? At least adults can compartmentalize, but children below the age of 18 may not! Stories like yours bring the need of human connection to the forefront and it enrages me that politicians and the news just see us as nothing more as voting NPC#467843. They attribute no humanity whatsoever to their Draconian edicts.

lixa 5 points ago +5 / -0

This is similar for the loads of people who live alone and are away from family. I'm one and I feel totally forgotten, like my life isn't as important as someone who is only physically vulnerable. That's what the government is telling us, that those who are depressed and suicidal out of isolation don't matter. I'd rather get sick and die of covid. And I'm sure this gran feels the same way. It's really devastating.

3
TuckerCarlsonsTie 3 points ago +3 / -0

My God. This breaks my heart. People like you need to make your voice heard because you shouldn’t have to feel like you don’t matter. However, politicians that want absolute power are willing to sacrifice certain people to maintain absolute power. It disgusts me. You matter. We all matter. We cannot allow the corrupt politicians to ruin our lives.

2
lixa 2 points ago +2 / -0

Thanks. Sorry, I’m not trying to get pity, just to contribute that it is a real issue that goes unnoticed by many. I wish I knew how to be more vocal about it in a way that would be meaningful. This is so frustrating because it is about power, and people go along with it thinking it’s about morals and keeping people safe. If people wouldn’t give in then it wouldn’t remain this way.

2
TuckerCarlsonsTie 2 points ago +2 / -0

My concern is not pity, but from one human to another. I am sympathetic and saddened to hear your troubles and burdens. I pray your situation gets better.

I work in a place like this. The old people there would riot if they could. They are so alone, and forlorn, and they are not even allowed to go to each other's rooms either. No social time, stay in your rooms. There are a lot of them who had active fitness routines and healthy bodies... going out cycling and walking and jogging, using their gym. Once that fitness level disipates at their age it ain't coming back. They're dying and moving out in large numbers. Our residency numbers are down to about three quarters what it was at the start of the year.

Doesn't look like the US, but could be anywhere. Heartbreaking. Such a serious heavy cost these forced lockdowns are doing. Liberals are all about socialism, but only as far as they can force other people to do what they want. In the end they care about themselves and are willing to look the other way towards the massive suffering as long as everyone wears a mask.

I'm sure these people locked away "for their own good" would rather take that chance of dying to spend time with family, than life a little while longer in isolation.

My grandmother was in full service med care facility, she went with the lord years ago- but one of the things that I always think about is this scenario if she was still with us today. The home cooked meals, the family time. Dont get me wrong these ppl get fed but it's not the same as getting them home cooked meals and spending whatever time they have left sharing a meal with their families. Thinking about how these people spend their whole lives caring for us only to be locked away at the end. It's so cruel. Say a prayer there are many like this women.

9
Smurfection 9 points ago +9 / -0

That is absolutely heartbreaking.

8
arkylady 8 points ago +8 / -0

This is heart breaking. What about her family? Why doesn't anyone take her in and let her live with them? I worked in a nursing home for years and there is nothing that a nursing home does that you can't do at home and you can get a home health nurse to come do the few things you can't. Nursing homes are expensive and if they are private paying for any of it, they could easily hire someone to stay with her while they were at work or wanted to go out for the evening.

I'm currently living with my 86 year old mom who has lung cancer. I swore 30 years ago after working in a nursing home that I'd never send my parents there. It's not easy and I have had to give up a lot to be here for her, but I wouldn't have it any other way. She sacrificed a lot for me my whole life. She deserves to live out her life at home around her family, especially her great grand kids.

This has happened under Boris.....

Take it as a warning.

I’d been trying to talk them into moving back here for years. The whole Covid situation finally convinced them. The Covid situation also guaranteed that I’ll never put them in a nursing home!

Right to Try should apply to Right to Live. She really has not much to lose if she gets covid and dies. She has the right to chose the way she lives. That being said, if the hospitals become overwhelmed or the resources are scarce, she should not be treated.

I hate the "masks don't work/covid is a hoax" people are the ones hurting the cause to open back up. Normal people are turned off by these types of arguments. Covid is real. This is a risk. It is small. People should have an individual choice fully knowing the risks and benefits.
