Money, for one thing.

I had a "primary care Physician" recently tell me that "people who have diabetes need to also take a Statin medication even if their cholesterol is perfectly normal because people who have diabetes also are at a higher risk of cardiovascular problems".

The drug companies have manipulated "science" and the FDA into helping them sell medication because of all the things that "might" happen.

This is like saying "you should wear a life vest when driving, because driving a car increases the chance you might go into a lake. Here, your insurance will cover the life vest, you only pay $15 of the $5000 price tag."
