Trump's for a smaller federal government and open economy (and even there he is for tariffs and other such tools that libertarians aren't in favor of) that's why it seems like his ideals more align. However, from a social aspect libertarians are more aligned with the left.
As a libertarian, the left was more aligned with me socially, but they've shifted so radically left that even socially I'm more in line with conservatives.
I'm in favor of gay marriage, but not in favor of every state being forced to allow it--I am in favor of every state having to honor out of state marriage licenses, gay or straight, but not on having to issue them.
The left went from a liberal position of "freedom to" to "human right to" in a matter of 4 short years.
I made a post about this same poll a few minutes ago. It is oversampling dems by 8-11% and assumes 92% of D voters will vote Biden while 91% of R's will vote Trump.
I'll check that out. IBD/TIPP is the only one I really pay attention to because of its track record. Hope they aren't playing Dem games this year like the others.

And if youre reading this and thinking "Im a Libertarian and Im not like that! Im supporting Trump!" then you have to realize something very clearly, you arent a libertarian. That whole movement has been so cucked in the years since Ron Paul that its basically a honey pot to turn patriotic or right leaning people into gullible cucks for the left. What is "anti-racism"? You are either racist or you are not. Discrimination based on race has been illegal for decades.

Each person is supposed to get one vote without having to worry about others telling them who to vote for and without having vapid crybabies threatening them with death and damnation because of who they vote for.
Trump could lose this race because 2% of conservatives voted for a different conservative other than him. Their votes get thrown away unless their candidate gets roughly 50% of the popular vote. They know that this is wholly outside of the realm of possibility yet they do it anyway, also knowing that their votes can tip the balance of the election. The vast majority of conservatives don't play this game. Yet every election we lose most of our cushion to the 2% who do. They can go to hell.
I know 3 people voting for Jorgensen and their life is consumed with ORANGE MAN BAD. I don't think they are pulling much from Trump.

Anecdotal, I know, but I am a libertarian and know many others, both friends and family members. Each and every one I know is voting Trump.
