Look fren, sorry but you're being just a bit naive if you think K Street isn't still very active and prosperous. Congress over the past 4 years has produced plenty of successful spending & budget legislation where K Street firms played a big role in lobbying pols in both parties. 99% of that stuff never makes news anywhere.
And it's not just well-heeled lobbying firms getting their objectives included (sometimes they practically write the legislation themselves and then give it to congressional staffs for final tweeking), but it's also the lucrative K Street consulting firms who play a major role in advising pols on policy and strategy & tactics.
Why just a day ago, Bill O'Reilly reported that a K Street firm - The Bonner Group - held a strategy session conference call with DNC & Biden campaign staff (including I'm sure their media liaisons) to discuss how to respond to the Biden laptop scandal news. It was the Bonner Group who instructed them to push the "unverified" and Russian disinformation lines. Which they - campaign/party/media - then dutifully did.
Dems pay K Street firms like the Bonner Group really big bucks for shit like that, and much else...and corporations, unions, oligarchs, foreign governments, all continue to pay them big bucks. You can trust that nobody on K Street is having to sell their beach house or mountain cabin.
