Classically Liberal 24 year old here who just voted for the first time in her life (Trump.)
Not gonna lie, I’m not completely sold on this side. I see a lot of ass backward ideologies, such as people insinuating women’s sufferage was a mistake, women shouldn’t hold positions of power, it’s my duty as a white woman to make lots of white babies, etc. I see a ton of racist and homophobic stuff too (actually racist and homophobic, not “I don’t like you so I’m gonna call you names”.)
Also, people - YOU CAN HAVE BLUE HAIR, TATTOOS AND PIERCINGS AND STILL VOTE REPUBLICAN. YOU CAN DECIDE YOU DON’T WANT MARRIAGE OR CHILDREN AND STILL BE REPUBLICAN. NOBODY CARES WHAT YOU FIND ATTRACTIVE. IT’S AMERICA. WE SHOULD ALL BE FREE TO LIVE OUR OWN LIVES.
But you know what? In an ass backward conservative America, I can ignore the dissenters, brush them off and make my own story. In an America run by communists or Islam, I can get straight up raped or stoned.
So I between the two Americas, I’m choosing Trump’s America.
