I asked him if we (wife and I) should visit. I have lots of presents but asked him if he wants me to go there and drop them off or actually visit. Told him I didn't want to be the person that killed his parents in case I have the China virus. He didn't care. He just wants to see me and my wife and hang out. So there you are, an adult who knows science would rather get together than hide.

Open up the USA now.

I kind of get the feeling they know something we don't, just from their life experiences.

:) I am always happy to meet happy 90+ year-olds. I figure at that age, they've seen some things, and choose to stay upbeat. I love it.

They know a lot we don't:) Being 90 doesn't make you a genius, but...

My folks are in their mid 80s, and same. I visited a couple of months ago, and they want me to visit for Christmas. They would rather see me than not.

It's a hell of an ethical question (with a rather obvious answer but I digress) is grandma living an extra two years really a good thing if she now lives in total isolation because her relatives are too afraid to accidentally kill her by saying hello

I'll say it. If my grandfather lived almost 100 years as an honest, free, man contributing to the success of this great nation and being proud of his family and accomplishments, and had the choice between another year as a prisoner in isolation, or another three weeks with his family, I know the choice he would have made.

He is remembered every day.

We really have to get rid of the agenda news.

They are scared. It's the damn TV. If they knew the truth, they'd chill. Life, crazy thing. I hope, in the next 4 years, Trumps FCC can crack down on the fake news.

Soldier on brother. Two relatives very close to me, 99 and 97, passed on in the last three years, and I have been thankful every day since this bullshit started that they passed before I would have been prevented from coming to see them.

That's sad and good to hear.

My dad maintains a thick protective layer of tar and nicotine.

My mom 94. Mind is perfect. Feels the same!

My mother at 81 is scared. I drag her out all the time. Tell her she is safe with a mask. Brothers and Sisters come over with the Gkids as much as possible. Life is pretty much normal. Except...Mom is scared. I can't convince her other wise.

I think I had Covid in March. Really bad cough, lots of nose fluids dripping into my lungs when I slept. I'm over 50. Gave it to my GF in 4 days. We both pulled a rib muscle coughing so much. We both never had anything like that before. We're both in good shape. She's 5' 6" and 110 lbs. We both work out. Didn't get deep in our lungs but the fluids did and we had to cough that up. We both survived and we both think it was definitely Covid because we both, being over 50, never had that type of cough before. Highly contagious it seems. Lab grown maybe. If you think your grandmother can withstand a really bad cough for a prolonged period ( I had to roll over the side of the bed to lower my head to the floor to help get fluid out) then that's fine. Otherwise, maybe cut her a break. Wasn't fun. So, I think we are immune now but I can see why older people would be afraid.

you continue the fear mongering.. I can't, nor will I allow anyone to not allow my mother a life. she enjoys her grand kids and her great grandkids. We are in solidarity as a family. She is scared. I don't blame her, but life goes on. And we visit and are driven crazy by the squealing and laughing of our babies. Don't think my Mom is getting separated from us....her family. NEVER

Sorry. I didn't mean any disrespect or fear mongering. Really. Tough times. I wish you all the best. Peace and love to you.

Thank you. We are marching on as a family and understand my mother's fear. But do as a family should; we still include her, despite her fears.

Lord bless your dad.

Since when has our society decided that it's LEGAL to lock up adults who've committed NO crimes against their will? Since when did we decide not to respect them or to listen to their preferences when it comes to living THEIR own lives?

Just snuck up on us. We let our guard down.
