Going to the school board might be more effective than trying to talk to a teacher who is almost certainly a TDS-infected SJW.

I’d do both. The teacher lib needs to hear about him/herself. Getting in the principals face isn’t a bad option either. School board however that needs to happen too.

It is, but even in schools you have to follow the chain of command.

If you do not tell the teacher first, admin has an avenue to ignore it and delay by asking parents to talk directly to the teacher first and attempting to resolve it there.

From personal experience, always follow the chain of command for anything but physical abuse and collect a paper trail with handwritten notes in a composition notebook. A number of parents tried to appeal to my "management" over their kid's grade and always find "management" unsympathetic to antagonistic.
