Kind of the reason why Obama implemented Common Core, so each state's education would essentially be under federal influence and the Dems need only capture control of 1 federal gov't as opposed to 50 state governments. They failed in getting all 50 but enough states now are beholden to federal assistance that they pretty much don't have the final say on educational matters.
Aside from Obama influencing Pearson Publishing with a $350 million contract to create the Common Core curriculum to then secure his own book deal with them.
