I think the best way to counter this crap is by sitting your kids down and explaining that, yes, it's great to give your money to those in need, but it should be up to you to determine how much and to whom it's given.

The left thrives on making socialism out to be some kind of charity. Show your kids what actual charity is and they'll have no trouble spotting the difference.
