You would actually be helping the runaway inflation doing that, if you think about it.
If he destroyed 1200$ he would be reducing the supply of dollars, thus increasing their value.
If it was 1200 dollars worth of gold maybe. Paper money doesn't follow those rules.

The handouts will have to be paid back, and they won't be paid back by those who don't work. Those of us who work will foot the bill for the rest of the country. Take appropriate precautions for the elderly, open everything else up, and make those who are responsible for the damage already done swing. A lot of people have been hit hard by the lockdowns and related business downturn, and many fall between the cracks of the various permanent support programs (e.g. unemployment checks). Honestly, the $1200 per head handout is probably the fairest, cheapest, and least bureaucratic way to keep food on the table, the lights/heat on, and gas in the tank to get to whatever work may be available or look for work, for people who just can't quite keep their heads above water under these conditions. For people who don't really need it or don't "deserve" it, it still ends up getting spent, and therefore being a boost to many hard-hit businesses.
That would be a bargain price to see Lois Lerner spend the rest of her worthless life in prison. For starters of course. That one has topped my list for years.
