This decision, particularly after she voted for Kavanaugh makes her look unprincipled and wishy-washy - two qualities that turn voters of all stripes off. Also, those Americans opposing ACB don't really know anything about her. They just have that position because that is what Dem party leaders told them to think. They don't have deep conviction about it. So, Collins should have signalled she is voting for ACB and then made a reasoned case to her constituents as to why (qualified jurist that won't strip their rights away...blah, blah, blah).
