The are guns that microstamp the serial number onto the cartridge after you fire so that they can be traced back.
Because of the way modern guns work, the only place you could stamp a cartridge would be the head/primer, as any stamping on the sides would cause extraction issues.
Or the "SMARTGUNS" the ones that require you to have RFID to "Unlock" the use of it. But guess what, you only get one. So if your right hand is injured, you have to move the RFID ring or bracelet to your other arm to allow the gun to work.
