This is a long time coming and I'm pleased to announce that I, along with my wife -- a first timer as well, will be voting for the first time in my whole life. Sure, I could have voted in the last couple of elections but none of the candidates were qualified to lead America, in my opinion, which is why I didn't bother registering to vote.

For obvious reasons, I'm voting for the first time because America finally have a valid candidate in Trump to lead America into the right direction. We're pleased with how Trump have accomplished in the last 4 years and we want 4 more years out of him.

Because this is my first time voting, I have never seen a ballot up front to know what to expect. I've seen some of the posts here from people who have shown what their ballots looked like but they were either close up or showing part of the ballot.

So here are my questions:

  1. When people say they're voting straight Republican, does that mean when you get the ballot, there's a box saying, "Straight Republican" or something like that? Additionally, when you check/tick that box, you're done? There's nothing more to do as that option will cover every Republicans such as Trump/Pence and Republican candidates for the state I live in?

  2. If the above option doesn't exist, then clearly I'd be voting for Trump/Pence but I do not know much about the other Republican candidates for Senate, House, Supreme Court etc, other than the governor of this state as I'm not originally from Ohio. I'm well familiar with Gov. DeWine nothing more. So can I just vote for Trump/Pence and submit my ballot or will I have to complete the whole ballot to make it eligible to be counted?

  3. This is for the Ohioans - I recall back in the summertime when the China virus has "escalated" in Ohio and Gov. DeWine said that we will be doing mail-in ballots only but I'm also hearing we can vote in person at the official polling place. Is the part where we can vote in person true? I believe it is as I'm seeing some people in this town I live in, said they've voted in person but I just wanted to make sure this is true.

  4. Clearly there are a few days left until Election day so my wife and I are debating on whether to vote early or wait until Election day to go vote because we have a child and no one to babysit our child while we go vote. Not only that, but what's the advantage/disadvantage on voting early vs voting on Election day? We want to make sure our ballots are counted and we're fearful if we vote early, there may be some kind of "hijinks" going on like seeing our votes early then tossing them out or some kind of "oops".

  5. Anything we need to know as first timers that is crucial for us to do prior to voting, voting and what to do after voting?

I'd do the research online but I trust TDW more than anything I read online that doesn't come out of TDW. Of course, I trust then verify and almost 100% of the time, most of the info I've found on TDW has been true.

I'd appreciate serious responses to my questions and please number out the responses so I know which responses correlate to which.

Finally, LET'S FUCKING MAGA!!!!

It's very easy , i suggest you to vote early and avoid the hassle.Straight republican means voting for every single republican on the ballot. There isn't a box that says straight republican, gotta vote one by one on every part of the ballot. The President can't do much by himself and that's why we all gotta vote all the republicans on the ballot. Make sure you are registered to vote!

Worth noting that some races have multiple Rs and multiple Ds for a single seat

OP be sure to look for your “sample ballot” for your congressional district

If you see multiple Rs then definitely spend a few min looking in to the options

We dont want split votes leading to lost seats.

10
booblitchutz 10 points ago +10 / -0

Multiple Rs? Isn’t that what primaries are for?

5
thisguy883 5 points ago +5 / -0

Yea I never heard of this being a thing in the general election either.

What state?

14
victory2024 14 points ago +14 / -0

I've only seen it for judges and some types of commissions (like Soil and Water)

8
tech121 8 points ago +8 / -0

We have it for the general in Georgia for Senator, since Kelly Loeffler was appointed Senator we know have a bunch of candidates to choose from. Lots of Rs and a few Ds. If anyone gets above 50% they win otherwise a runoff.

Indivisual_1 1 point ago +1 / -0

Ugh, I’m so torn in the Loeffler vs. Doug Collins!

On one hand, everyone says Collins is MAGA and Loeffler is too much big $ establishment. I thought I was secured for Collins, then Rick Grenell came out and endorsed Loeffler...

Help?!

3
N0ad87 3 points ago +3 / -0

In GA we had a senate special election with multiple Rs, doubt that’s the case in Ohio, but we had 2 Rs, Collins and Loeffler, that’s the only time I’ve seen it.

2
tech121 2 points ago +2 / -0

My ballot had 5 Rs, granted you listed are the top 2. But for people that didn't look at a sample ballot and research, probably most, they may not know who to vote for. Meanwhile that Warnock guy ads play nonstop about his Obama endorsement.

1
N0ad87 1 point ago +1 / -0

Yeah I’ve been seeing that. From what I understand there will be a runoff with the top 4 vote getters on January 4-5(can’t remember) if no one gets over 50% of the vote which is highly likely

2
Eadgyth_the_Swan 2 points ago +2 / -0

Only in the jungle primaries of Louisiana. To further confuse, in Presidential election years we have the down-ticket jungle primaries on the first Tuesday of November, all other years they are held in mid October. This means it’s possible we will have House and Senate runoff elections in December this year.

2
Soon2BTaxRefugee 2 points ago +2 / -0

CA has a top 2 primary system where the top 2 candidates in the primary advance to the general election regardless of party. So 2 Dems or 2 Reps could advance.

1
ARfreedom 1 point ago +1 / -0

Where I live, there are a few positions that have multiple seats to win, and as such more than one republican or democrat can be elected into there. That's not how my ballot is this year, but I've seen it in prior elections.

3
booblitchutz 3 points ago +3 / -0

I’ve seen that for city council and school board, so yeah I get what you’re saying now.

1
Foreign_Aid_is_Theft 1 point ago +1 / -0

Other people mentioned the "multiple Rs" in a general but uptrumped for the advice on Sample Ballots. It's really good advice to always look up the sample ballots before going to vote so you are sure of everything/everyone you will be voting on.

33
SirDonaldJTrump 33 points ago +42 / -9

Do all Presidential elections in the past have so many voting options?

As a first time voter, its a bit overwhelming for me and my partner to have to tick so many boxes, given we know little about politics. I'd rather just have a single ballot for electing the President, and some other ballot at some other time for all the chucky cheese mayors and councilman and assistant attorney or whatever.

The Presidential election is the most important one and it gets diluted by clubbing it with elections for so many other posts.

Agreed. The beauty of the United States of America is that we are not a tyranny, the states can rule how they wish. Trump acknowledges this and does not want absolute power. That is why when there are riots in the streets, he says I will help the governors if they ask. He does not go in there on his own. All states are different. California will want drastically different laws than Alabama, etc. So we have to make sure that our local governing body is on the same page. As you have noticed the states suffering the most are Democrat run states and cities.... vote them out!

4
kung-flu-fighting 4 points ago +4 / -0

2 more things - Stopping a bad candidate from becoming Mayor or City councilor assures they never become Governor or President - stop them early! Many states (depending on your party affiliation- ie if you are 'no party' or independent) will let you choose the primary you want to vote in. So you can vote in either primary thus helping shaping what candidates

The sheriffs are little barons. They aren't accountable to higher politicians and can literally raise an army at will. They are vital for the right.

8
linereddit 8 points ago +8 / -0

Particularly, the local sheriff is often the administrator who controls weapon carry permits. Too often, in jurisdictions where the rights of the People, as endowed by our Creator and protected by our Constitution, are regularly ignored or even attacked by those elected or appointed (by US!) to uphold and defend that very Constitution.

Definitely all this. I would also add that politicians trickle up. You have to inform yourself about your local and state politicians because they eventually move up into the national arena. If we don't vote out the crappy ones early, they can eventually become senators and presidents.

That’s exactly how Bill Deblasio won re-election for mayor of NYC

I think he got 13% of vote

45
MAGAholic 45 points ago +45 / -0

Yes.

Vote R down ballot. We have to remove every single democrat from power. Look at what theyve done these last two years. Impeachment because theyre losing, lockdowns to hurt the economy to get rid of trump, etc

Vote RED Remove Every Democrat

22
Supersonic-turtle 22 points ago +22 / -0

Yeah I think this will be the first year I straight ticket republican.... I usually pick and choose based on the candidates ideologies but honestly it’s become so divided I’ll just vote red because I lean that way mostly and it’s time for the left to take a backseat.

15
OconusLurex 15 points ago +15 / -0

Exactly. For many years, my local rep was what I considered the only good Democrat in the country, and I voted for her. She has become more & more of a disappointment, but even if she hadn't, I'd be voting straight R now because any vote for a Dem representative helps the D's keep hold of the house, which makes it possible for such atrocities as:

-Nadler, a man who does not believe in justice, and doesn't follow his own rules in chamber, being chair of the Judiciary Committee

-Adam Schiff, possibly the house's biggest leaker to the press, being chair of the Intelligence Committee, with Swalwell on an intel subcommittee

-Maxine Waters, one of the most financially corrupt politicians, being chair of the Financial Services Committee, and, of course,

-Nancy Pelosi, the woman who cannot speak, being speaker of the house, rather than someone like Jim Jordan.

The Democrats spend their time in the house smearing, grandstanding, launching endless media circus investigations based on nothing, and abusing every ounce of power they are given. We need so much to retake the house. Every vote matters.

8
Rginap 8 points ago +8 / -0

You probably saved yourself time looking into the specifics. I voted according to ideology In my area, and it ended up being straight Republican.

My state is ran by Democrats, and the past issues they have supported previously are:

*A third category for gender

*Change policing as a result of George Floyd

*Create a committee to give reparations to black people

*Force companies to have diversity quotas

*Impeachment of our GEOTUS!

When I saw that, I was like NOPE, NOPE,NOPE, NOPE and FUCK NO. I didn’t even bother to look at the individual Republican platforms because anything would be better than what we have now.

31
ethan123 31 points ago +31 / -0

The President is every four years. The House is every two years. The Senate - well, senators serve six year terms, but their election is staggered so that a third go up for election every two years.

There may be other special elections, but November is generally when everything important takes place.

And we don't just need the Presidency, we also need Congress so we can actually pass some laws. The Congress is just as important as the White House.

10
SmugFrog 10 points ago +10 / -0

This. You must vote Republican for any Congressional or Senate candidate. Even a bad Republican like Lindsey Graham is preferable to any Democrat in this current climate.

Judgeship, Sheriff, and District Attorney positions are also vital. Because these are often considered as "nonpartisan" offices and don't always include the party preference of the candidates listed on the ballot, it is very important to do some research on the candidates beforehand. Don't just pick a name at random. The booklet provided is not very helpful so you may have to look online to gather more information on the candidates. Go to the candidates' websites if there are any, and look up their record online and search for any endorsements. Sometimes you may have to vote for the lesser evil and chose a candidate who's politically correct and has liberal leanings over a radical leftist.

George Soros has been able to get many of his puppet DAs through because our side hasn't shown up to vote in primaries or state and local elections.

Yes... Get a sample ballot. Some candidates in some states don't show party affiliation. I'm pretty sure you can bring in your sample ballot with names checked after you research the party lines and just use that as your guide.

Nomoralcompass89 13 points ago +13 / -0

Most ballots will show a little R or D after the name to show party association, atleast for President, Senate, and such. For the other smaller races, but equally important like Sherriffs, you may have to do some research. But the local elections as said carry weight on your city, vote for a republican mayor and such if you oppose mask orders and lockdowns.

13
BunnyPicnic 13 points ago +15 / -2

Research your Republicans though. A vote for a romney type might as well be a vote for aoc. Dc is swampy.

8
deleted 8 points ago +8 / -0
4
ihatespeech 4 points ago +4 / -0

The time for that is in primary elections. Republicans need to take the House and Republicans only have a slim majority in the Senate. Right now even a Republican in name only is better than a Democrat if only because they decide which party has majority.

5
not_tired_of_winning 5 points ago +5 / -0

Worth noting also (at least in my state) that the candidates can identify as whatever party they want, and that's what appears by their name on the ballot, regardless of whether they are actually a member of or endorsed by the party. So, don't just blindly vote R - do some research ahead of time.

56
MAGAholic 56 points ago +59 / -3
  1. in some states. Others you just vote for all the Rs there is.
  2. go online, type in your district. You should have a preview of your ballot. Do your homework on the candidates. Write down or take a pic of who youre gonna vote for. Bring that in with you
  3. im sure you can vote in person. Call up the county recorder for confirmation tho
  4. your fears of hijinks are valid. Go on ED. Take turns watching the kid while you vote.
  5. make sure you have your ID if your state has voter ID. Some states have a no political apparel rule in polling places. Other than that, assuming you already registered to vote, no
20
Deaf_MAGA_Pede [S] 20 points ago +20 / -0

Thank you!

So I'm assuming I can't just mark Trump/Pence and be done with my ballot? I have to fill in every option to complete my ballot?

Go on ED

What's ED?

We both are registered to vote and I got a letter in the mail saying to bring our IDs with us when we vote. We are also required to wear "neutral" apparel so yeah, can't wear Trump 2020 hats, shirts or whatever.

45
MAGAholic 45 points ago +46 / -1

You can fill out just Trump/pence... but dont. You need to R down ballot. A shitty R is better than anything else.

Some races wont have party affiliation, because they are "not partisan".. that is a lie. Research who is on your ballot. Vote accordingly (R)

ED is election day

20
DinosaurAlert 20 points ago +21 / -1

A shitty R is better than anything else.

And if you happen to have some magical wonderful moderate local politician who is a Democrat, but has been doing a great job and has a 98% chance of winning.. still vote R since that will show that they can’t swing left.

15
BurgerChef90 15 points ago +15 / -0

Here in Indiana, we use machines and 1) There is a straight ticket option, and 2) You have to fully complete your ballot, aka vote for however many it says to vote for in each race. If not, the ballot is voided.

We have "non-partisan" for school board here in my little town. They're all life long republicans.

A good example of non-partisan being a lie would San Diego and Miami mayoral races. Both of them are "non-partisan" but every candidate belonged to a party at some point, so to say it's non-partisan is a bit of a stretch.

You CAN only fill in for Trump/Pence and the ballot would be accepted. You do NOT have to fill out for other candidates.

That being said, we really need the house, senate, governor, everything so please fill them all out!

10
Deaf_MAGA_Pede [S] 10 points ago +10 / -0

And I will, now that I'm enlightened by the responses in this post. I'm really glad I made this post so I'll be voting straight R!

4
A_Feral_Duck 4 points ago +4 / -0

I don’t know what part of the state you are in, but at least in Cuyahoga county a number of positions (judges and school board especially!) are non-partisan. Please go to your county GOP website and get a list of their endorses candidates. School officials are especially important if we want to undo all this crap the left has done to our country.

2
Hudlum 2 points ago +2 / -0

Hell yeah! Straight ticket republican. Way to go! Good energy!

3
thebigbear 3 points ago +12 / -9

Wrong, the country needs more republicans to support TRUMP. Fill out the ballot totally and take the time to educate yourself on the issues. Vote REPUBLICAN ON ALL THE CHOICES AVAILABLE will the the most to support TRUMP. God Bless and welcome to the Salvation of America.

Goldeneye007 15 points ago +15 / -0

No, I am not wrong and we shouldn't give false information just because we want republicans to win everything. A ballot will 100% be accepted if only the box for President is filled in.

As I said though, we as republicans really need everything, not just the presidency, so please fill them all out.

We are agreeing that we would like for him to vote in all sections of the ballot for Republican candidates.

The disagreement seems to be on if, should OP choose, to only fill in the Trump/Pence section, and leave everything else blank, would the ballot be accepted. I am saying it would be accepted, and the other gentlemen (or lady) seems to think that is wrong.

Depends on the state. Are you in OPs state?

Correct, all ballots must be counted regardless of what is or isn't filled out.

You can stop at President and Vice President, but please don’t. President Trump needs Republican senators and congressmen. As you can see with Amy Coney Barrett, control of the senate is critical for fixing the judicial branch.

Some states void ballots that are incomplete.

1
BigCovfefe 1 point ago +1 / -0

Source?

1
Bidensbrain2020 1 point ago +1 / -0

I was actually repeating an anecdotal report that I saw somewhere here... which naturally I cannot locate. The poster reported that the person in front of them in line feeding their ballot into the machine hadn't filled it in completely and walked away without looking at the machine, which generated an error and perhaps failed to count it. There were also some other reports in this thread about invalidating incomplete ballots.

Your question led me to try to research it further. This source seems to say you can leave blanks, although it also says it can confuse the machine.

https://www.findlaw.com/voting/my-voting-guide/can-i-leave-blanks-on-a-voting- ballot.html

In the past i've left blanks when i didn't like the only candidate, but with everything going on this year and all the extra complications and possible ways to be disenfranchised, why take any chances? Where I am, while you can vote in person it still goes into an envelope, so it's not checked and counted on the spot, which really sucks. And if your signature doesn't match well (to what.. I only signed one piece of paper!), it can get tossed.

I have to say, the voting systems in the US have had a lot of problems historically, but this year will be a real prime clusterfuck.

16
Redheadgrrl 16 points ago +16 / -0

Or take your kid in the ‘voting booth’ with you - so they can learn what it’s all about. I used to go in with my mom when she had to actually pull a lever in the machine.

What states have a 'straight republican' box?

Straight Republican means you're voting Republican straight down the line. You have to vote for candidates by name, they're just grouped by party affiliation.

Edjt: I stand corrected apparently it's a thing. A rediculous thing, but a thing nonetheless!

Block_Helen 14 points ago +14 / -0

Used to be Texas too but NO MORE! Hooray!

Edit: for pedes that don't know. If your state has a "straight ticket" option that means you press one button (or fill out one bubble) and submit and you are DONE. All Republicans or all Democrats.

Sounds great right? It isn't. It means that people don't look at their choices. It means that lines are faster and in areas with lots and lots of low info voters (DEMOCRATS) they can pump them through the polls faster because they all just press that D button and DONE.

That's why Dems fought against Abbott abolishing the straight ticket option in Texas. But he finally won in court.

Now, I vote for Republicans all down the ticket. So you could say I vote straight ticket. But I have to check those boxes individually. It's not one and done.

HTH

5
BurgerChef90 5 points ago +5 / -0

I'm in Indiana and I've never used "straight ticket" button.

I always go through and check out my choices and make my decisions from there. Even though most of the time I vote straight Republican, I still don't check the "straight republican" box.

2
DisgustedByMisleadia 2 points ago +2 / -0

One clarification: Abbott did not abolish straight-ticket voting in Texas by himself. The state legislature passed the law in 2017, and Abbott signed it. It took effect this year.

Democrats tried to restore it via the federal court, claiming: the law disproportionately hurts Black and Latino voters in big urban counties, where ballots are typically longer and take more time to fill out. No, I'm not making that up.

A federal district judge in El Paso tried to use the pandemic as an excuse to "pause" the change and avoid people standing in line for a long time. The federal appeals court overturned him, because early voting was scheduled to start in only two weeks.

https://www.fox4news.com/news/no-straight-ticket-voting-in-texas-for-2020-general-election-court-says

2
Block_Helen 2 points ago +2 / -0

Thanks, I thought of it as something Abbott did in 2017 but of course it would have been the Lege.

I did hear about how the Dems didn't like it because their retard voters who don't know what they're doing would get slowed down in the lines in the big urban precincts. And of course since they're all scared of the covids that just makes it worse for them.

I’d encourage voting for every Republican on the ticket. All politics are local, and local politicians can cause a lot of pain if they’re crazy. Not every R is good, but there’s a higher likelihood that they’re good than a Dem. Also helps us to send a message overall that Dems are awful if we sweep at a lot of levels. Just my opinions! Congrats on voting for the first time, it’s a powerful thing to do.

14
JustHereForTheSalmon 14 points ago +14 / -0

A Republican that votes the right way 10% of the time is still better than a Democrat that votes the right way 0% of the time. The time to flush these RINOs is during the primaries. In the general, the R nominee gets my vote.

3
Furaffinitydotnet 3 points ago +3 / -0

For local you can vote which party a candidate runs under. Sometimes it's good to vote "Conservative" instead because it clarifies what kind of Republican you want them to act like.

  1. No, it means voting all possible Republicans
  2. Have to do your research! For senate/house/local. Their social media may give you a clue...
  3. Not from Ohio...

Ohio pede here...

What ever you decide to do, do NOT do the drop-off. If you do ballot dropoff, it will count as a provisional ballot and will NOT be counted toward the election unless the results are showing it being too close that they need to go to those. Also, the mail union endorsed Biden... I wouldn't trust the mailman with my ballot. I only trust my ballot that I fill out on my own and I feed it into the machine on my own. Do not let the poll worker do it. I live in an incredibly blue county, I don't trust any of them.

Also, masks are not needed in Ohio (legally). They will harass you if you don't have one. I did early voting and I had to vote segregated from everybody, and the police officer manning the door harassed me. They may even tell you that you have to have a mask. This is bull, a mask is not required. I waited only 10 minutes in my line to get in to vote.

Pre-print your ballot and fill it out on your own time at home. Then, it makes voting incredibly easy, took me 2 minutes to fill in the bubbles. Just make sure you fill in the correct bubbles, don't rush it. Check it once, check it twice, and when your pen is on the circle, do one last check.

If you are in my area, I would be happy to do what I can to help you vote if that means watching your kid or what ever..... but honestly, that would be weird to do with a perfect stranger. But if you were in my district, I'd be happy to hang out in line with you at the BOE. Also, something to consider, I don't know how young your child is, but we have always (except for this year) taken our child to vote with us. We feel it is important to show him the process. He's 9 now and has voted in almost every election we have had. Consider taking your child and being a model for your child. You are doing the right thing.

Two words:

Vote Trump

Block_Helen 17 points ago +17 / -0

No, we need him to vote more than just Trump! :) Vote Rs all down the ballot please. :)

11
Deaf_MAGA_Pede [S] 11 points ago +11 / -0

And I will definitely vote all Rs on the ballot. Most are running unopposed so this town apparently to be based than I thought! I've already looked at half of the candidates and they appear to be Trump supporters or at least support Trump's views.

8
Block_Helen 8 points ago +8 / -0

Wow, that's so great, I've lived in pretty much all blue cities/states except when I was a young kid. I don't know that I've ever seen a Republican candidate running unopposed. :)

6
Deaf_MAGA_Pede [S] 6 points ago +6 / -0

I've lived in a blue state my whole life until I moved to Ohio and yeah if I voted back then, I'd probably say the same thing you just did! I've counted how many running unopposed and it's 9!

14
incogneato 14 points ago +14 / -0

I'm just here for the "Chumps for Trump" flair!

p.s. And to say get a sample ballot for your state. You can probably see one on line.

Get a Voter's Guide, also on line, to see what the propositions are and how you want to vote on those.

12
aphelion 12 points ago +12 / -0

Congrats and good luck!

Voting straight Dem/Rep is a pretty common thing actually. Both sides do it to a large extent and for good reason. It stands to reason that, despite whether you might personally like, say, Lindsey Graham or Claire McCaskill or Tulsi Gabbard or whatever, that having an allied person in a lower seat would be more useful to drive the agenda from above forward even if there are plenty of caveats in that support. No matter how you slice it, even that snake Mitt Romney is going to be a more consistent conservative voice than anyone the Dems nominate.

Pick your choice in the primaries and pick your battles in the general, I say.

4
aphelion 4 points ago +5 / -1

And by the way, this is why it's perfectly logical for Dems to vote in another Dem who has been convicted of fraud, etc. - despite whatever they've done in the past, they're still the more likely party to enact and support legislation they want in the end. Not saying that's a great thing, but it is what it is.

7
Redheadgrrl 7 points ago +7 / -0

You should go to your Secretary of State /county website and find the sample ballot for your county. It’s not just people you are voting for but also referendum issues like SPLOST/penny tax.

I’m glad you’re voting for Trump, but you should be at the polls every time they are open. Local elections affect your life much more than who is in the White House. I’m talking roads, zoning, what’s taught in schools, how they spent school funding, property tax and sales taxes, what businesses are allowed and some on even who can pick up your trash.

Study your local candidates and read their websites to see if they align with your values

Good luck!

3
Block_Helen 3 points ago +3 / -0

Yes! Great point.

If there is ever any kind of bond (read: tax hike) I always vote no. Always. :)

Thanks for the explanation and yes, there's one proposition on the ballot and it's a school tax levy.

  1. It depends. In some states you get a straight ticket option, and in others you don't.

  2. This election vote Republican all the way down. However, you'll notice that there are some non-partisan races where the candidates have no party affiliation. It's on you to research what their positions are. Board of education seats are CRITICAL to the future of the country! Find out what the ballot is for your address then search the names of all non-partisan race candidates and the seats they're running for and find out what they stand for. If you see a school board candidate who talks about covid covid covid or diversity diversity diversity, or whatever, you know what to do: don't vote for that one.

  3. If you're in a city or anywhere where there has been or could be antifa/blm violence, then vote early, cause those fuckers might try to disrupt voting on election day. Otherwise it's up to you, but voting on election day might take ALL DAY, so if you can't spare the whole day, vote early.

  4. Don't wear anything that indicates you're a Trump voter. Make sure your ballot got counted or otherwise put in the ballot box. There's lots of important things to know if you have an uncommon case, like if your registration address and address on your ID don't match, or if your registration is somehow lost or whatever, but I've no experience with these, so read on.

6
ArkansasMaven 6 points ago +6 / -0

I'm pretty sure that straight down the ballot means to vote for the republican in each race, whether it's senate, judges, governor, etc. You can probably find help through the local republican party headquarters. They should be able to point you to a voter's guide with the candidate's platforms. This page, https://slate.ohiogop.org/, allows you to choose your county to see the party endorsements.

I wish you both all the luck with this. It's a vital part of our country's processes and I'm proud of you. xoxo

I just noticed you are deaf. I hope you come against no barriers, but you shouldn't. You seem to be proactive and educating yourself is the best thing you can do. If nothing else, try to contact someone on that site to guide you. It's not easy. I'm in my 50s so I've been around a while. You are the future.

4
Deaf_MAGA_Pede [S] 4 points ago +4 / -0

Thank you! Yes, because I'm deaf, I always take it on myself to learn everything necessary to get far in life because I don't want people to take advantage of the deaf community.

I can go on with stories on how I was on the verge of being taken advantage of until I took action to fight back and managed to right the ship, but that will be for another time!

After looking at the sample ballot, it looks to be a good one as most Republicans are running unopposed so the only thing I need to be concerned about is the judges and the proposition on the school tax levy then I'll decide accordingly.

You're our future as well because we all need to work together toward a better tomorrow for EVERYONE involved in America! Even if the liberals don't like it, someday they will look back and realize they were wrong for opposing the "patriarchy" and hopefully they will be thankful for us for saving them.

If the liberals don't realize it soon or later, they're a lost generation of their own and they can move to a communist country if they want. Cuba is nice this time of the year, I hear!

I’m in Ohio and I’m voting in person on the 3rd. Can confirm there is a 2 hour line for in-person early voting at the county office. So in-person is a go.

There are websites that will break down all the people on your local ballot and at least link you to info about the person.

I’m going to recommend https://www.ballotready.org/ only because I happened to use it this year. They give party endorsements for the non-partisan candidates as well. You can choose candidates on the site and then have your choice sent to your email to review at the booth.

I don’t know any background on that website though, so maybe keep that in mind with the personal info, Bud.

Most local parties have a "sample ballot" that you can find, which both shows you what to expect on the ballot, and also would tell you how said party would perfer voters to vote.

So, if you find a republican sample ballot, it will show Trump... and all the other Rs. And similarly a democrat sample ballot will show biden... and all the Ds.

Personally, I like finding myself a nice democrat sample ballot, and voting the exact opposite way. (and tell the operative that was handing them out that I am doing such.)

3
Block_Helen 3 points ago +3 / -0

I like the way you think. :)

4
CountryState_of_Mind 4 points ago +4 / -0

Fellow Ohio MAGA voter here, glad to hear you are making a positive difference!! 1.) There is no option to vote once for all Republicans. You have to vote for each person individually. Keep in mind, the candidates will have either "R" or "D" next to their name to designate party affiliation EXCEPT JUDGES. No way in hell we freedom loving pedes want a Dem judge elected, so make sure to find out which judges are running in your district and vote the Republican ones. Look up your County's local GOP office and call for the list of candidates. Our GOP office has a "cheat-sheet" with all GOP candidates on it for easy reference.

2.) You do not have to cast a vote for each and every office on the ballot, but voting for all the Republicans will only help Trump. Your ballot is legitimate even if you leave some "unchecked" Sometimes candidates run unopposed, and I've skipped those unopposed Democrat candidates in the past. Local level officials definitely matter given the push for commie infiltration at lower levels of government ( school boards, councilmen, etc).

3.) Call the Board of Elections for your County. That is where you can go vote early and in person. I'm absolutely voting in person because I don't trust Dictator DeWine. If you decide to vote on election day, the Board of Elections will let you know where your voting place is.

4.) I know people who have already voted early, I have not made up my mind yet, BUT....Asshole DeWine keeps saying "cases, cases, cases are surging"!! Makes me worry he may try some sketchy bullshit to scream "too many cases Ohio", gotta shut down the voting". Ohio has had early, in person voting for years, so I tend to believe it's fine to vote early.

5.) Play it safe when voting and go "incognito" with your attire. I'm normally wearing my Trump shirt when out and about, but not to go vote. Ohio does not allow wearing anything showing support of a candidate anyways....although Dictator DeWine would probably be fine if people wear the China flag to go vote.

Congrats to you and your wife, OHIO IS TRUMP COUNTRY!

Deaf_MAGA_Pede [S] 3 points ago +3 / -0

Thanks for the info!

Someone provided me this: https://slate.ohiogop.org/ and I see the judges on the top.

On the sample ballot, I can see the judges are showing as "non-partisan" so I'd have to research them but seeing how the link I just told you about, are for republicans.

The reason why I pointed this out because I recall seeing one of Sharon Kennedy's commercial and it looked like she's not a Republican? Most of the commercials are not subtitled so I don't know the context but I saw some pictures of a newspaper clipping saying, "Kennedy ousts Republicans from office" or something like that.

I'll do more research on the judges but is Kennedy a good pick or not?

2
CountryState_of_Mind 2 points ago +2 / -0

Anytime fellow patriot! I have not followed closely Kennedy's court rulings, but she is a Republican and I will vote for her over the Democrat. I can already see the writing on the wall with DeWine. He is going to keep pushing the bullshit China Virus crap until he is forcefully stopped ( through litigation). He is already being sued for crushing our freedoms. Check this site out

We need as many Republicans we can get to stop the Dem destruction of our freedoms.

Thanks for the link!

2
J3N93W 2 points ago +2 / -0

I'm worried about DeWine pulling the same shit with closing the polls, too. Strange how we can't wear candidate clothing or other paraphernalia, but candidates can station volunteers to stand in the yard of the polling location to talk to people about their boss. I saw that for myself when we lived in eastern Franklin Co. and I about lost my shit.

2
CountryState_of_Mind 2 points ago +2 / -0

Wow, that is a bunch of bullshit. DeWine is no friend to freedom, he is such a deep state snake. I honestly think he may either try to close in person voting, or try to scare enough people to not vote in person. I'm voting in person, along with everyone else I know who is a Trump supporter.

4
JustHereForTheSalmon 4 points ago +4 / -0

#2 makes me a little sad, but I get it, you're new at this.

Be on the lookout for "non-partisan" races. They are positions that won't have a D or a R after their name. They are most certainly partisan, they just have to hide their affiliation. Look at who endorses them, read up on their campaign pages and see the kind of words you see.

In Florida, I'm flushing out judges that were put in by Jeb Bush and dumping local non-partisan races that made heavy reference to BLM.

I would encourage you to get involved in your local politics. If for nothing else, participate in the primaries. Your party nominee is only as good as who won the primary, and a lot of MAGA candidates in the making have major uphill battles against established GOPe swamp creatures.

3
Deaf_MAGA_Pede [S] 3 points ago +3 / -0

For #2, I didn't mean it as that I wanted to just vote for Trump and be done with it. I do want to research and find out more about the candidates and some pedes here have provided me excellent links that will be useful for me to do my research on.

I just didn't want to be voting for the corrupted people if they are the only ones listed on the ballot so the only person I'm concerned about is Trump/Pence.

You can rest assured I will be voting straight R on the ballot as I've already looked at pretty much half of them and they're based! Either Trump supporters or supports Trump's views! Also half of the Republicans are running unopposed so that's a good thing.

You vote by office.

Straight Republican = Voting Republican for every office.

On your ballot you will see which candidates are running for which office.

If you want to vote straight Republican look for the candidates with the R next to their names. I highly advice you to actually read up on the candidates though. An R means nothing if it's a RINO.

Voting early is fine if you go in person. Avoid using the mail in ballots unless you drop them off personally.

5
Block_Helen 5 points ago +5 / -0

I highly advice you to actually read up on the candidates though. An R means nothing if it's a RINO.

Nooooooo

The time to vote out RINOs (Republican In Name Only) is in the PRIMARIES. Get the best R you can find and vote for him/her.

Once we get to the general election though, which is what we're in right now, it's R vs D. And an R, even a RINO, is ALWAYS better than ANY D.

Especially in the age of Trump.

1
BoughtByBloomberg2 1 point ago +1 / -0

I mean sure if it's an R vs a D but this is about a lot of elections man. Like county commisioner and Sherrif. There are some cucked Republican Sheriffs out there that just keep getting reelected cause they coincise with the Vote Red season.

1
Block_Helen 1 point ago +1 / -0

I mean obviously, if you have some R who is local who you think sucks, and you genuinely think the D would be better, go for it.

But someone brand new to voting - is likely not going to have that level of knowledge. Generally speaking Rs > Ds (and I am by no means saying Rs are perfect).

4
Enigmacraft 4 points ago +4 / -0

Vote whichever way is more convenient (as long as physically). I voted early and the line wasn't that long at all but I'm sure it depends what time of day you go. When you vote you will get the names of all the candidates and their political affiliation, so just vote the Republicans to vote straight republican.

3
CuomoisaMassMurderer 3 points ago +3 / -0

Hello OP! I urge you to vote on election day, after 9 AM but before noon. Our biggest concern is election fraud, and letting Democrats count your vote early informs them how many fraudulent votes to prepare. Before 9 AM there may be a rush, and rioters never get out of bed before noon so no worries.

Do you know where to vote?

Get a sample ballot, from your town hall. You can look it over and get familiar with the form. I urge you to vote Republican for every Office; some may not specify and you can leave them blank if you know nothing about who is running. Primary elections are the time to pick the best Republican candidates; primaries are over long ago. Any Democrat vote will work against freedom.

Are you sure you are registered to vote? Your State has its own rules about that, but you can do it at the same location where you vote.

You and your wife can take turns voting and staying home with your child

2
Wholelottarosie1776 2 points ago +2 / -0

Can we get this stickied at the top please??? This is the best advice.

I dont trust this early voting, especially in NYC. EVERY PEDE needs to show up on election day (November 3rd) and vote. No mail in, no early voting.

2
Deaf_MAGA_Pede [S] 2 points ago +2 / -0

I know where we have to vote and it's not far from where we live.

For us, I think it's a safe bet we will be fine voting early as this town is pretty much based. 9 Republicans are running unopposed on the ballot and I've been told that this town is heavy Red. We don't live close to a metropolitan-sized city so we should be good.

3
nowrongwrong 3 points ago +3 / -0

Here in California they mailed everyone a ballot whether they requested it or not.

In order to vote in person, I need to bring my unused mail-in ballot with me to the voting location where it will be exchanged for an in-person ballot. If people forget or don't bring it, they will end up with a provisional ballot instead. Nice dirty trick to try and spoil in-person voting. So it might be a similar situation where you live.

Check with your Secretary of State's website, or better yet your local county election office. They should have instructions somewhere about in-person voting, what is required and what to bring.

On the plus side, here in California we have four days we can vote in person instead of just the one. That's nice to spread some of the load out over the weekend before the election.

3
Tookens 3 points ago +3 / -0

Don't stress out or worry.. They are pretty easy to figure out.

All of the candidates will be identified by party, except for a few non-partisan offices.

For the non-partisan races I look closely at their endorsements. If the "non-partisan" is endorsed by every loony left group and several gov't unions, that's usually a strong indicator of how they think.

3
Goldeneye007 3 points ago +3 / -0

No, this just means the are filling in the box/bubble on the entire ballot for Republicans, which on most ballots should have (R) next to the name. There is no "straight republican" option.

You do not have to fill in the options for everyone. You could only vote for Trump/Pence and the ballot would be accepted. As mentioned above, all other candidates SHOULD have an (R) next to their name as well, but you'd do well to maybe quickly google which candidates are on the ballot so you are ready. We need the Senate and House too!

Yes you can vote in person. They have tried but cannot block this. Voting in person is much safer for having your ballot actually counted IMO.

As long as you are voting in person, you should be safe voting early. You will actually be putting the ballot into the machine, or entering it on the computer (however your district does it). There really isn't much of a difference voting in person now or on election day. Hijinks could happen on the 3rd as well.

Not really. Fill in the circles/boxes fully and carefully if it's a paper ballot. I'd recommend bringing as many friends as you can too...as long as they vote R :)

Also at the polling station will likely be a bunch of people, mostly from the democratic side trying to get your vote. I'd say just be polite, say thank you, and do not mention who you are planning to vote for.

As far as what to do after the vote, if you vote early, keep getting your friends and family to go vote R. If you vote on the 3rd, go get glued to your TV like the rest of us and pray :)

2
Deaf_MAGA_Pede [S] 2 points ago +2 / -0

Thanks for the explanation! I think we will be voting early, just to be on the safe side as we have several factors to consider here.

Have always been polite to everyone, even those who hate Trump and us Trump supporters and yes, including the ones with the nose ring, pink/purple hair dye, tats all over body and the effeminate males sipping soy lattes.

Will be watching the results live on Nov. 3rd, even though it may give me stomach cramps! It'd be like watching the Cubs win the World Series (and yes I'm a lifelong Cubs fan)!

A lot of state and local elections have judges on the ballots. Often, the judgeship elections do **not **have party affiliations listed. Some of these judgeships are important positions to supreme courts (especially in Ohio).

If you really want to go the extra mile, research these judges before you vote. I usually find a source I trust and use their endorsements.

No, there’s no option to vote straight ticket by checking one box. Basically what it means is you vote for every Republican on the ballot but you should do some research into every candidate.

Yes, you can vote for just Trump/Pence

This is for the Ohioans - I recall back in the summertime when the China virus has "escalated" in Ohio and Gov. DeWine said that we will be doing mail-in ballots only but I'm also hearing we can vote in person at the official polling place. Is the part where we can vote in person true? I believe it is as I'm seeing some people in this town I live in, said they've voted in person but I just wanted to make sure this is true.

I’m not an Ohioan so I’ll skip this

Clearly there are a few days left until Election day so my wife and I are debating on whether to vote early or wait until Election day to go vote because we have a child and no one to babysit our child while we go vote. Not only that, but what's the advantage/disadvantage on voting early vs voting on Election day? We want to make sure our ballots are counted and we're fearful if we vote early, there may be some kind of "hijinks" going on like seeing our votes early then tossing them out or some kind of "oops".

The narrative is if you vote early, Dems know how much to cheat to win the election. Personally I am voting on Election Day. The advantage is it’s the most secure, the disadvantage is it is less convenient. From what it sounds like, your best bet is to vote on Election Day.

Anything we need to know as first timers that is crucial for us to do prior to voting, voting and what to do after voting?

You seem to have it spot on, only advice I would give is to convince all your friends to vote for Trump and to take them with you to vote.

2
Deaf_MAGA_Pede [S] 2 points ago +2 / -0

Thank you for the excellent responses and we're still on the fence on when to vote. My wife can't stand for long because she have bad knees so voting early may be optimal for us, or at least more for my wife.

I may go on ED but looking at Ballotpedia as well as the sample ballot that I've just looked at moments ago, seems like this town is based than I thought. I think voting early is safe for us at this point.

The deadline to register to vote in Ohio was early October. I hope you registered in time. Check your registration status here: https://voterlookup.ohiosos.gov/voterlookup.aspx

That link will also display your local polling place. Your county board of elections may have more information and a sample of what the ballot will look like.

Also thanks for the links!

3

However the selection process works in your state / district / precinct, double and triple check your selections. In the past in Texas for me, it was submitted through a machine only. This year it was a machine which then printed out a paper ballot that I scanned and deposited.

I double and triple checked my selections both on screen and on paper.

2
Deaf_MAGA_Pede [S] 2 points ago +2 / -0

I like to stay on the safe side and I always triple-check everything I do. I live by the "Measure twice, cut once" motto, even though I would abuse it by measuring it a third time before cutting! Lol

Go to ballotready.org. It lets you enter your location and gives you a ballot 95+% accurate to what you'll see on election day. I highly recommend you do it as there are issues on the ballot besides who your pick for president is. You have local and state issues that you should be informed on.

2
that_sound 2 points ago +2 / -0

So can I just vote for Trump/Pence and submit my ballot or will I have to complete the whole ballot to make it eligible to be counted?

The system has been redesigned to keep good people from succeeding as candidates, and does a great job of weeding out people who won't take bribes, people who are not corrupt/corruptible, people who can't be controlled. A guy like Trump who breaks thru it all doesn't come along very often. Trump is an extremely rare exception. We can not count on some random guy coming from out of nowhere to become president and save us all. If there's no follow thru from us all on MAGA then Trump will have been just a temporay setback to the globalist/communist takeover.

Anyway, the system as it works now relies on most normies being uninformed or misinformed or unmotivated to vote. We can have a better system simply by learning about the people on our ballots and voting for good people. The system was originally designed to put the power in the hands of the people - by voting. Your vote has the power to fix everything that needs fixing. 330million people pushing in the same direction can do any damn thing that they want to do.

In order for good people to make it to higher office, they need to win elections to lower offices earlier in their careers. I strongly urge you to learn about all the people on your ballot (which someone above showed you how to find) and vote for the best candidate for ALL offices. There are some good people in Ohio at the beginning of their careers running for offices that you might not really care about, but could go on to do great things. Or maybe they'll lose and leave politics. If nothing else, surely you can agree that having good people as sheriffs and judges is critical to a well functioning society?

Remember to fill in the bubble completely. Thanks for voting!

2
DonJr2032 2 points ago +2 / -0

All partisan races will show Republican next to the candidate. Unless you are a commie, choose the Republican on all of them.

There will be quite a number of non-partisan races and other issues on the ballot also (judges, amendments...), but these you will have to research yourself. You should be able to get a sample ballot online. Don't just pick a random person. You can not vote for individual races if you don't want to also. Some of the judges are activists. You'll want to find the one that matches you more closely. Sometimes it's hard to find info on them because they don't come out and say if they are conservative or commies.

I don't know how it works there, but I do know this..... The presidency is gonna mean squat if the Dems control the house and the senate. They'll just impeach him next chance they got.

My wife and I have a newborn and decided to vote early and in-person. We live in Texas, and chose to early vote to miss lines. We just sat in the car to watch the baby while the other person went in. I would recommend early in-person voting to reduce stress and save time. MAGA!!

MAGA!

Some states have a straight party line box you can check to vote. If not you have to check all the boxes individually. My state has the party line box.

One thing about voting on Election Day - if an employer has a time off to vote policy, that policy may only apply to their workers Election Day voting and not early voting.

If you do vote on Election Day, go early. First thing in the morning if you can. Lines stack up more later in the day.

For judges go to your local republican website or give the local office a call. It says non partisan for judges where I live and sheriff but the party knows who’s who and who’ll make good, constitutional decisions and not.

ONLY ONE BOX MATTERS:

Donald J Trump / Michael R Pence

Not true, as we've seen the House, Senate, governor and state government is very important too

They only need to flip 4 senate seats to take control of the Senate, then an impeachmentwould have dire results. President Trump needs to get the house back and keep the senate to really effect lasting changes.

You can get a sample ballot online, usually from your state government. Just enter your address (be careful when submitting personal info online). You will also get a list of approved polling places for both early voting and voting day.

Next, print out your ballot and start researching your candidates. Mark your choices, hit the restroom and then go to your polling place.

Texas recently removed straight ticket options from the ballots. Some states still have them. If so, it should be at the top.

Have fun.

Fellow Ohio pede here. 1. and 2. Ohio does not, or at least did not in past elections, offer a "straight Republican" option. You need to look online for your local county to get a list of candidates and their affiliated parties. You should be able to search online for a list of your county's issues and candidates. If you do not want to vote for anything down ballot you can leave the rest blank, but I highly encourage you to look at what is going on for your local elections, they are important too. 3. You can vote in person, and further, you will not be turned away if you show up without a face diaper. https://www.dispatch.com/story/news/politics/2020/08/13/will-masks-be-required-to-vote-at-ohio-polls-in-november-yes-and-no/42208675/ 4. Definitely vote in person. I've seen lots of people arguing the pros/cons of voting early vs voting on election day, so I'd say do what is best for you. Just vote in person. 5. Don't wear openly political stuff to the polling places, sometimes they get angry at you for that. Bring a photo ID like a Driver's License, Passport, Concealed Carry license. Don't loudly promote Trump within 100ft of the polling place. I hope this helps.

Some Republicans might be RINOS

Check their voting record to be sure. Social media too.

I use ballotpedia.org for Proposition and measure research too.

Ballotpedia is exactly what I've been looking for to help me understand each candidate!

THANKS SO MUCH FOR THIS!!!

As others have said, there's usually a voter guide for your district mailed to you and available online. Trump for president is the no brainer, but you'll want to read that guide for all the other races and local amendments and such.

This is especially true for local level judge elections. Don't neglect them! They won't list themselves with any party affiliation but read the pamphlets and search online. Either in the brochure or on their own sites, they'll usually list their endorsements and very often you'll see "endorsed by <your state> Democrats". Huge red flag! Vote accordingly!

One thing to look into additionally, even if you vote straight ballot republican (ie. you tick all boxes next to people with an R next to their name instead of a D), there are a lot of "non political" positions like local judges and such, as well as ballot measures that may sound nice but actually be shit (i.e. a "equal marriage" ballot proposition that might actually be about legalizing child marriages or something equally garbage).

Be sure to investigate these before you arrive at the polling place. Additionally, in local elections these smaller positions usually only receive a few hundred votes so they're a great place for you to organize and make a difference if the incumbent sucks.

I voted early in Ohio. I went to the County Courthouse. Most of the candidates are identified as Republican except the judges and the State Board of education. I got a flyer from the Ohio Republican party that identified the candidates: Brendan Shea for State Board of Ed. , Sharon Kennedy and Judy French for Supreme Court. This was the first time for me that it was touch screen. I'm not sure if all counties are like that or even if all polling places will be like that on Election Day. I voted early because I was afraid they would change things because of the virus. You fill out an absentee ballot request at the courthouse but you get to submit your ballot that day! Congratulations on your first time voting! MAGA

Don't forget to educate yourself on the proposals for your state, pedes and OP. Don't take the word of what it describes on the ballot. There are underlying and hidden agendas written in a way to make bad proposals sound good! Do your research on those before heading in to cast your vote for GEOTUS.
