Pelosi was supposed to be playing hardball. Instead, she flip-flopped twice and pushed back the deadline. The obvious conclusion is that the lack of economic package is badly damaging San Fransicko and the people are yelling for a bailout, any bailout.
The good news is that Pelosi's position is far weaker than it might appear.
