I think this is too extreme of a story for pre-election coverage. It’s so nutty that it would poison the well of the laptop from hell making everything seem conspiratorial. I personally believe in it but I think this is a post-election hammer drop that will only happens after a Trump win.

Think about it - NBC town hall tried to get the President to call it an unhinged conspiracy theory. President Trump wouldn’t retweet it unless he had confidence in it. He doesn’t operate that way. President Trump wouldn’t denounce it either - he just said something like “I retweet lots of stuff” blah blah blah.

Media has negative credibility at this point. If they try to get the nation to believe this is a conspiracy theory it’s probably true (like Pizzagate or the laptop from hell). Maybe it’s false, I don’t know, but I think it’s true
