And no, it doesn't matter who it was - Mr. Rogers could accuse the government of wrongdoing and as much as we would want to believe him it still wouldn't constitute proof. Then take the fact that the people on the tapes are a CIA asset who has been accused of peddling Iran conspiracies in the past and a disgraced corrupt Congressman, it becomes even less believable.
It's not that I don't want it to be true - I do, and I'm sure the larger narrative is - but we can't just make ourselves look like fools by jumping on a sketchy story just because we want it to be so.
