Will agree with this. Went to doctors on campus cause I had a runny/stuffy nose that was persistent, and some small chills from it being cold that day, and cold/fly medicine wasn't helping much. They sent me to student triage and had tested me for covid and sent me to quarantine til results came back, and told me either stay two weeks or get two negatives. So, I lost a week of in person class time, and 200$ for two tests for a disease I have hardly any chance of catching, because of a fucking cold.
VA probably marked me as a case for covid too I'm betting.
All the people that were going to die of the flu this year died of Covid 6 months earlier. That’s why influenza deaths have collapsed. We literally shut down the economy so that old people didn’t die in May but in December.
I think both. Yes, fuckery with the numbers and test kit shenannnigans, however also, the distancing and handwashing has helped reduce flu, too. Since libs can't concurrently hold two ideas in their heads simultaneously, "Trump killed 200k!"
There's also some evidence that multiple respiratory illnesses have trouble taking hold in an area at the same time. WHO flu prevalence numbers are down almost 98% world wide. This isn't just a United States thing. One country that hasn't dropped precipitously in flu numbers is Cambodia, which oddly has been hardly touched by Covid.
I wish Trump would point this out more at his rallies because the Dems continue to go off about the 250k deaths Trump caused, when at least 60k or so were due to democrats alone.
Didn't CDC originally estimate up to 2 million deaths? If so, Trump saved the lives of 1.7-1.8 million Americans. Of course, about 60,000 Covid deaths were in Nursing Homes where dem governors forced the homes to take in Covid patients turning them into death camps.
So 210,000 COVID deaths are probably 137,000 at the outside.
Hmm 2018 chronic lower respitory disease deaths from CDC are 160,000.
Excess mortality if all the rest actually are COVID is plus 0.5%, one in 200 increase over baseline (2.8135 million deaths per year 2018).
For this we shut down the economy for six months and counting?
By my calculations, completely eliminating COVID would extend the life expectancy of the most vulnerable by 4.5 months. We have by now already taken 1.5 times that much actual living away from them and everyone else without eliminating COVID.
It would have to be at least 20 times as bad as it actually is to merit these lockdowns. That’s what we feared back in March and April, and 2-4 weeks to contain it then may have made sense.
All this stopped making any kind of since 4-5 months ago. Everything since then has been moral panic backed by acres of lies.
And why? To blame Trump for something for one, and to double down, never admitting past error, as the biggest reason. They can’t admit they fucked up.
Many of us have been telling Team Trump to hammer this point home!!!!! Make the "experts" answer this in clear terms, there is NO clear answer other than the case numbers are manipulated like crazy.

You can rest assured you were at least two covid cases

Right before the Wuhan virus closed shit down this year, my kid's school and several districts closed down for flu outbreaks.
Flu didn't and won't go away. Anything showing otherwise is manipulated data.

Subtract 60K Covid Convalescent Home deaths from Dem governors and Covid is responsible for 70K deaths in excess of normal flu season.
We should do what The Great Barrington Declaration says and reopen the nation and protect the vulnerable.

COVID cured the flu! Trump’s a genius!

It takes years to catalog a new virus. So either it's completely fake or it was man made.
Covid cured influenza. What's all the confusion about?

Reporting flu deaths as covid deaths???
