This is part of the "great reset." The wealthy can weather a storm like this. And as competition falls off they increase their market share. It also makes consolidations easier.
Absolutely agree that China probably over sold the deadliness of the virus to the people wanting this great reset. They expected way more people to die and for all of us to beg them to take our freedoms to make us safe.
The dems are socialists and communists. IF they are elected again what will happen eventually (maybe not in my lifetime, but probably) they will nationalize most all businesses. So there is equity and equality, we will all have a choice of the same car, same clothes, etc. conformity is also a control mechanism. They already want to get rid of cash. So since all business will be nationalized, everyone will essentially be working for the government. you have an an account with credits. Just like online banking, but with no cash it won't be called dollars. It will be credits most likely. And everything you buy costs X amount of credits. Just like a video game. You will be surveiled. constantly in order of peace and your protection.
Regular chefs, short-order cooks, and restaurant owners are telling a different story. 🤔As a matter of fact, there might have been a lot of them--and their families--lined up Saturday at various early polling sites in NYC, alone.
"Riiight. Simple. rustic. Ya? Wake up! Jesus! Fuck me. You're not a fucking chef! Hoi, right, good, ya. Make a nice, simple, beef Wellington. You're fucking taking a piss ya? Fuck me! You can't cook!" - Gordon Ramsey
Imagine if Facebook let your competition pay more to limit your reach.
Back in the day of phone books, companies would bid against each other for ad space. Bid more than your competition and you get a full page at the front of your category listing, while your competition is paying slightly lower rates for a few column inches.
He has his own restaurants but the majority of his income is from entertainment, not his restaurants. He can easily whether out this storm.
In fact, I would say he enjoys this. More local restaurants shutting down means his restaurants will eventually get more business. Michelin start restaurants specifically charge high amounts for the experience - it’s just not the same with take out and these are probably struggling the most in these times. Local Michelin star restaurants will close and Gordon’s will reopen without a problem as Gordon can afford to prop them up for now
I like Gordon. Watch Kitchen Nightmares UK version. He comes in and schools entire families on how to be better people. He always emphasizes hard work, tough love, and personal accountability. Granted, that was a while ago, but he seemed to demonstrate good values.
He's a celebrity what did anyone expect, it doesnt surprise me. Just look at the way he treats the people who go on his show and I get that it shouldnt be an easy wlk in the park and that they should have to work hard for it because what he's handing them is basically his reputation but there is something demeaning in the way it's done. Anyways thats my thoughts.
This is why I am in favor of the stimulus checks and expanded unemployment. Some industries have NO job to go back to. Restaurants that are open here can only serve a reduced capacity. They have hired back less cooks, servers, etc.
And restaurants aren’t the only ones, the travel industry is decimated as well. We need another stimulus to tide them over while we open back up and we need to open NOW.
Our economy will crash from the millions out of work just like it did in the housing market.
I do understand that some people are rioting etc. those aren’t the high earners. And they should pass a rule with the stimulus that require no arrests for rioting to receive unemployment.
The rioting is happening in a few major cities and getting a lot of press. It’s only 4 blocks in Portland. Meanwhile, line cooks, servers, bussers starve.
How about instead of paying out of work waiters and hotel staff to sit at home, we pay them to rebuild our crumbling infrastructure by using that money for construction projects instead of welfare?
That’s a good idea. I would be for that. However a lot of training is needed. I sold real estate for 26 years. Pouring concrete and construction is actually a learned skill And takes many years of hard work to learn. It’s not like they can walk on the job and start building a wall, unless you want that wall to fall down.
There are many already in the construction industry also out of work that could be immediately employed. But I wouldn’t ever want to walk into a building built by waiters and hostesses. Not everyone is suited to handling a power tool and some construction folks might actually think you look down on them based on your suggestion.
This guy doesn't care, hes got tons of money. This is a blessing for him since all the small and medium restaurants go bankrupt and close forever while he can afford to stay afloat, and the completion gets eliminated in the long run. He will profit generously from the other restaurants shutting down. Think of it like a long term investment.
Understand that everything Biden and Democrats do is with anti-competitive bias. Regulations help the business oligopolies already established. Gordon Ramsey will profit off other restaurants shuttering, and also if he did speak out risks a boycott. Why would he?! Let someone else be the tallest nail that gets the hammer. This is life in the USSR.

Georgia Guidestones.

I think he makes more money on television than in restaurants. The restaurants, while successful, are just a backdrop for his TV shows.
Yea, I like the guy, but he is not 1st a chief anymore, he is a celebrity 1st and celebrities hold the water for the left.

That was beautiful

That's when you'd end up with crazy names in the yellow pages like "Aaaaaaaaandy's refrigeration service"

Nah, he just has the financing lined up

Gordon doesn't care. He is in the elite club, like Amazon, thriving during the Scamdemic
Pretty much a food porn advertising account.

It's TV. Trump wasn't exactly a nice guy on The Apprentice, either.
His UK show is very different than the US version. He's told specifically to play up the yelling and drama since that's what Americans like to watch.

Construction isn’t labor, it’s skilled labor.
