Is this the same poll that had Joe + 12 2 weeks ago? I know they were both Rasmussen, but they have a plethora of polls.

130
H_Guderian 130 points ago +131 / -1

iirc Rasmussen is on of the last few to do a Daily poll.

They also nailed the Scott Brown race, which eventually Warren would oust.

74
Art-Vandelay41 74 points ago +77 / -3

I don’t understand how Trump could have 53% in Rasmussen and not have a majority vote. I’m guessing Jorgensen is polling well?

What Morning Consult is claiming, "Most Voters Who Went Third Party in 2016 Are Backing Biden Over Trump This Year"

I don't buy it. Gary Johnson pulled in record votes for the Libertarians in an unsure election. Many voters that lean conservative or have libertarian leanings voted for Johnson in an unsure election. I don't see how they don't vote for Trump with his record and that Johnson isn't on the ballot. That's why New Mexico will go for Trump this time around.

Also, this line from the article..."Joe Biden leads the president by 32 points among likely voters who supported “someone else” in 2016". Talk about pure fucking nonsense. They pulled that number out of their ass.

Edit: I'd like to add the things that Libertarians should be happy about with Trump.

  • No new wars.
  • Mass Deregulation.
  • Pharma and Justice Reform.
  • First Step Act.
  • Several Middle East Peace Deals.
  • Booming Economy.
  • Repeal TPP and NAFTA.
  • Remove Obamacare Mandate.
  • Tax Cuts.

Gary Johnson had a shitty foreign policy position from what I recall. It was either a write in or just completely leaving that blank for me back then. Gotta keep in mind that I live in a deep blue shithole and I didn't know that the dims were going to use the popular vote difference as an excuse to try serious efforts to emasculate the Electoral College. It's a much different story these days thanks to those assholes. Trump needs popular vote desperately to squash those Constitution-hating assholes once and for all. (None of that is to imply that I'm not completely sold on Trump this time. Saw the light in early 2017.

Sounds like you are talking about people who say libertarian but really mean some form of Anarcho-whateverism. No one in their right mind believes our country can thrive as a Night Watchman State anymore, most libertarians mean some form of Constitutionalist. Someone who claims they are a libertarian because they want weed to be legal, but also vote for the party that wants to strip away all of your civil liberties are not libertarian. They are retarded.

1
FormerGraveheart 1 point ago +1 / -0

Most Libertarians I know are idiots

Yes, exactly. That's exactly the problem, because libertarianism doesn't work when you have a party like the Communists who are trying to use the freedoms we have to destroy the country. Libertarianism has no defense against that: it's like a body without an immune system. It doesn't work as a policy and should be thrown in the trash.

If were in a deep blue state, you might have said my vote doesn't count, may as well help the Libertarians. Some election rules require a party get a certain percentage of the vote to keep their status.

But this year, there is a greater realization that ever vote counts, even in deep blue areas, so Trump wins the Electoral College and the Job, but also the popular to shut up the "Not My President" talking point.

Joe wouldn't be Hiding' Biden if his presence could change the vote. Trump is on the road because it is where his energy comes from AND it helps down the ticket. We haven't seen our last Trump Rally because he'll be out there for the midterms in 2022.

There are people so brainwashed they think the economy was doing well because of lingering effects of Obama policies. These same people will justify the economy tanking under the next president as lingering effects of Trumps presidency.

6
ClownTamer 6 points ago +6 / -0

The democrats claiming economic credit for things happening well outside of their terms, and ‘the great party switch’, are up there with the biggest loads of BS that anyone ever bought. You can point to key things Trump did that would bolster the economy, alongside the fact that he’s a successful business man so of course he’s going to be better on economic issues.

You can’t point to a single thing like that with Obama. Obamacare itself is one of the biggest taxes on the middle class in American history. At best you’d be claiming that illegal aliens pay more taxes despite trying to live off the grid and not having to, alongside the imaginary belief that somehow your workforce looking more like the Captain Planet crew will somehow increase GDP. Even black unemployment is lower under Trump.

“Experts say that it takes 8 years to see economic effects, which is why we said that it sucked under Bush, and sucked under Obama, but is great under Trump.” Then you look at the expert and it’s a vagina hat wearing leftist weirdo.

My theory is that Biden is a sacrificial lamb.. everything about their campaign screams that the DNC never wanted them to win. Picked the least likeable candidates that scored the worst with their core demos (youth and minorities).

I believe they're playing the long game. They realized they haven't perverted a critical mass of people yet, so they got Obama on the board of Netflix, tanked their value by releasing Cuties, and now are using the failed Biden campaign as a vessel to taint the public consciousness with evil perversion.

They had only 76% of Republicans voting for Trump in the poll where Biden was ahead by 12 points. I actually do think there was some sort of coordinated pollster attack that week. Had it not been for Rasmussen giving only 76% of Republican support to Trump, I might have let it slide as a bad poll or an anomaly for a given day, but they should have corrected for that 76% number, that is ridiculous.

7
mikejones 7 points ago +7 / -0

I'm guessing because Trump won by just a small amount in 3 states that a little more fraud in those 3 states plus all the other ones they got in 2016 pushes them to victory.

Vote by fraud is going to be a disaster. States like NC that Trump won in 2016 could go to Biden due to overwhelming support via mail in ballots.

4
insickness 4 points ago +4 / -0

I think Biden's campaign appearances possibly hurt his campaign more than they help. The more people see Biden, the more he looks feeble. But also, not very many crowds appear so he looks bad in comparison to Trump. They think they have a lead and are hoping to run out the clock.

Im not saying the dems dont have more money. Im saying the trump campaign have more than what they need. Hilary outspent them too.

They have a strat that they are sure will work

Polls reported by the media reports are not to inform.

They are to keep their audience glued to the tube, watching ads and clicking links. Informed? Look at his they string out the weather report on the local evening news. Look at now the national news teases a breaking story on the hour then doesn't cover it until 80% of the show is over.

Campaign internal polliing isn't made public except for tactical purposes.

Biden is Hidin' because their internal polling suggests he can't move the needle. Otherwise he'd be on the road.

There was the 3rd debate OIl question, the "Joe, you have to talk them into it" moment for Trump, and Joe's fiasco in Pennsylvania the day after. They got new polling results after that and pulled the lid.

Did that happen in 2016? No. Just because hes not showing internal polls does not mean hes losing.

Also i went back and checked the 2016 polls trump was down way more in 2016 polls than he is now.

2
800080 2 points ago +2 / -0

Biden may have quit, but the Democratic party hasn't, so the internal polls will probably stay internal until someone does a post-election story on "How Trump Won Again."

Trump gets energy from rallies I don't think he'd stop, ever, if he didn't have a country to run.

3
NYC_4_Trump 3 points ago +3 / -0

Also, the slow drip of news by Giuliani kept the msm from spinning the story.

3
DisgustedByMisleadia 3 points ago +3 / -0

The polls that you see are bullshit. The polls commissioned by campaigns are not, or at least they weren't until the past couple of years.

If you collect enough samples, you can make a reasonable prediction, within the margin of error. But, the Presidential election poses a significant challenge: it's 51 separate elections, rather than a single one. Pollsters try to compensate by proportionally dividing their polling among the various states either by population or electoral votes. But a poll of only 1,500 people results in a very small sample in some states, and if a candidate overperforms in a large state like NY or CA, it throws the whole thing off.

The biggest problem this year is the "shy voter". Given the public consequences for supporting Trump, many voters are refusing to answer truthfully because they don't know who is actually conducting the poll. Some pollsters are attempting to compensate, after finding that an automated poll (talking to a recording) yields different results than a live person.

One pollster has noticed that they get different answers by asking questions like: "do you know someone who is voting for Trump?" and "who do you think will win the election?" Even in the face of contrary "push polls", they consistently find a significant majority believe Trump will win. That particular pollster was one of the few that called Trump's 2016 victory.

2
zwiebelsaft 2 points ago +2 / -0

Even the editor to the Daily Beast is saying that lol

70
Coprolite 70 points ago +70 / -0

Polls aren't intended to inform people, they are intended to influence people.

18
Nameless_Mofo 18 points ago +18 / -0

Absolutely, I've been saying this for years.

How can Biden even be close when the enthusiasm gap favors Trump by at least a factor of 10x? Trump made an unscheduled stop in Maine yesterday and thousands showed up to see him, and there are more Trump supporters than Biden supporters at a Biden "rally".

The fact they're even saying it's close means they're pushing an agenda.

10
MrFrogBottom 10 points ago +10 / -0

This is how I knew he'd win 2016. The enthusiasm is just off the charts for Trump - not so for Hillary or now Biden. Without that enthusiasm, people will find a way to not vote (lines are too long, etc.). Trump voters on the other hand ARE going to the polls, as we're seeing with the massive gains in early voting for the president.

5
Frestpost 5 points ago +5 / -0

100% this.

There cannot be a win without enthusiasm.

3
PeteButtplug 3 points ago +3 / -0

Never underestimate the power of cheating when you know the press will turn a blind eye.

3
TakingBackCA 3 points ago +3 / -0

Normally, I’d agree. But that’s why they invented mass vote by mail. Now, the voting period is weeks long. Enthusiasm no longer matters, if Facebook and Twitter and Google mass remind you to vote every single day. Eventually, these losers will work up they courage, after being assaulted, to send their free ballot in via mail.

2
Consumerbot381732 2 points ago +2 / -0

Enthusiasm gap is covered by broadcasting mail-in ballots. :(

2
Frestpost 2 points ago +2 / -0

And influence campaign spending.

2
NYC_4_Trump 2 points ago +2 / -0

There is no advantage of a campaign saying they’re losing. It scares away donors and keeps people from voting.

Really hope Trump wins North Carolina against all odds all by himself and with zero help from the useless state Republican Party in North Carolina which had completely betrayed him and abandoned him.

26
everyman 26 points ago +26 / -0

He should. There is no enthusiasm for Biden. I see some support for Biden in Wake County. But most of the state is for Trump. Black and Hispanic working class are for Trump. The liberal elite wannabes and illiterates they want validation from are all they have.

14
Zaszz345 14 points ago +14 / -0

He will. Hillary had a 16% early vote advantage over Trump before Election Day in North Carolina and trump won by 3.8 points.

Biden only has a 10% early vote lead right now and that is with VBM inflation.

3
UpTrump 3 points ago +3 / -0

The numbers are misleading there. A 10% VBM advantage this year could mean many more votes than 18% 4 years ago. There will also be less voting in person so the gap is harder to make up

4
Zaszz345 4 points ago +4 / -0

That 10% number includes VBM, absentee and early in person voting.....

There will be less Dems voting in person. Won’t be much of a drop for GOP. GOP voters do not trust vote by mail and are not that afraid of COVID.

Plus, NC GOP always votes on Election Day mostly. Go look through NC early vote history. GOP always looks like shit there in the Early vote.

Of course, I could be wrong. I’m just looking at the data and saying what I think will happen. Everyone’s has to vote like it’s their last election ever!

20
here_holdmybeer 20 points ago +20 / -0

Nah, there are some RINOs out there that for some reason unknown to a rational person that are voting for Biden because Trump isn't "presidential". They are the same people gunning for low energy Jeb! in 2016.

*Spez: Just saw you said half of the remaining. Could definitely be true on that, but I will always count in some RINOs that want to go back to the days where the Republicans were the Loveable Losers.

10
800080 10 points ago +10 / -0

On this issue, 2016 maybe. Trump has been Trump for 47 months and people have gotten used to it. "I don't like him on twitter so I'm going to vote for the guy who will jack my income taxes to 62%" happened never.

They may bitch about Trump's very direct style, but most will vote their wallets.

3

Most people are idiots and don't know a thing about Biden's policy. They vote on demeanor

6

I don’t see Trump making registered R’s run towards Biden. People who voted for Trump in 2016 are voting for him again.

voting for Biden because Trump isn't "presidential"

I sincerely doubt that sentiment's anywhere near as prevalent as 2016. I mean, he's literally been the president, there's not much to imagine anymore. And a lot prominent never Trump conservatives are voting Trump this time around. Shit like the Lincoln Project is just last-minute smoke and mirrors.

I like CNNs "polls of polls" in which they say they call 500 people by phone! Lolll. As if 500 ppl is a good sample size for hundreds of millions of a populace and plus no one can say they they are voting for trump without a rock thrown at their window

8
residue69 8 points ago +8 / -0

Similar to AP-NORC polls of "Americans". Once you dive deep into the methodology, which they keep hidden in the footnotes of multiple PDF files, you discover that many of those polled are "students". They don't define "students" either, so they could be of any age and possibly from other countries here on a student visa.

I know that Rasmussen has been relatively reliable in predicting previous elections, and I used to trust them compared to the MSM polls. However, Rasmussen's polls lately have been just as schizophrenic and unbelievable as the MSM polls that I have zero trust in them anymore. How the hell can Biden be leading by double digits one week and then Trump leading by 1 point the next week. It makes NO sense. Also, in this most recent poll, Trump has only 84 percent of the Republican vote and Biden has an even smaller share of the Democratic vote at 77 percent. Yet, somehow Biden leads with independents by 7 points. There is absolutely no sense it that at all.

Bottom line, i don't believe that there are any polls in this day and age (regardless of whether they show Trump ahead or behind) that are anywhere near accurate. The only poll that matters is November 3.

1

If you’re referring to Ras’ daily polls, as many mistakenly do, daily polls often vary 1-3 points, hence their margin of error. That’s normal. What a normal poll will do is exactly what Ras daily does, except instead of averaging three days worth of results they post daily.

7
buckiemohawk 7 points ago +7 / -0

These polls are absolute crap. There is no way Biden is FDR after WW2 or is Nixon vs McGovern. And there is now way Biden is Reagan vs Carter, Carter was so unliked it wasnt funny. You wouldnt see anybody with Trump stickers or going to rallies. There wouldnt be a TheDonald for those numbers. Remember when they all praise Carter, Carter was one term fluke that almost got beat by Ford but because of Nixon lost. They don't tell you that.

6

6
