Permastickied until the election
We think nationally a lot, but let's talk local for a bit!
Rules for this thread are pretty simple. Top-level posts must be structured as such or they'll be deleted:
[STATE]
[COUNTY/CITY/etc (if applicable)]
[Position title. School board, police chief, dog catcher, tax hike, etc.]: -Who is the MAGA candidate(s), or Yes/No to the initiative. Please include an explanation (and link, if possible)
Example:
NORTH DAKOTA
FARGO COUNTY
Police Chief:
-Deputy Dangle. He puts rollerskating hookers away and doesn't afraid of anything
School tax increase
-Vote NO. They're failing our students, churning out rollerskating hookers. They'll use the money for rayciss training anyway.
If you're looking for advice for your state/county, ctrl-F and search for it. If nothing comes up, do some research and advise others!
OREGON
Measure 109: Legalizing Psilocybin for Medical Use in Clinics
Vote Yes
-I'm not sure what your guys' opinion on this is, but personally I would recommend voting yes. First off it's not a dangerous compound that causes addiction and increases crime. Secondly the measure would only legalize it strictly for medical use in licensed clinics. Thirdly the medicine works EXTREMELY well. I was struggling with anxiety and to some extent depression for many years, and after a single dose of acid (a similar psychedelic, ONCE), it completely cured my anxiety 100%, and it has not returned since. It also was the event that led to my "awakening" so to speak. Once I realized that wasn't as described, it led me to researching many more things, and realizing that the world isn't as it seems, the news is fake, and so much more. Due to such this may even end up helping our cause. Psychedelics can help the brain make new connections and move away from deeply entrenched beliefs, and see things from new perspectives. In Oregon I can think of many people who need that little "jump" towards awakening.
Not sure why the guy above keeps reposting about this everytime it is removed. He keeps repeating things about the bill that are untrue so allow me to repost what I said on his first post as well and then go read the entire bill yourself before you support this:
If you read the actual bill you find out real quickly it is special interests bullshit, and if I'm not mistaken it has/is being peddled across multiple states.
They are acting like it's going to be some sort of professional 2 year study but all they are doing is setting up law for industry across the board to start selling them much the way of marijuana has gone here.
I could get behind doing a real 2 year study and allowing people to grow their own for themselves (just like the marijuana), but this shit, when you dig deep into the text, and who is behind it is sketchy as fuck
Are you referring to the person who posted the thread in the first place or me reposting? As far as I'm aware I've only posted this once, in this one thread, unless someone else has access to my account.
I'll read the details of the bill again but as far as I'm aware this bill (in Oregon at least) will NOT be setting up the industry like with marijuana. Here you can walk into any dispensary being 21 and older, and walk out with marijuana. With mushrooms you will not be able to do such, and the only way to have access would be to go through a clinic. They can only be consumed onsite with a person from the clinic as a trip sitter, and that would be on the second session (1st - introductory, talk about the problem, learn, etc, 2nd - have the trip, 3rd - talk over the trip and integrate).
There is a second bill here in Oregon talking about opening addiction centers, and decriminalizing personal amounts of drugs. That is a different bill. Maybe you were referring to that one?
I do understand the concern of special interest groups having control. My preferred outcome would be the flat out legalization of all plant medicines, with the ability for people to grow their own. That way everyone who needs access can have it, and due to people growing their own, it doesn't enrich any corporations that may want to take advantage. I just think something like this is a step in the right direction at least (in my opinion)
Yes, I'm referring to your original post in this thread that was already removed which is why you are reposting it again. This time with a little more about your own experiences with psilocybin.
The bills statement is extremely misleading and you are basically repeating it word for word. It leads me to believe you either haven't read the bill in full, not the statement, the bill. Or that your own personal bias' is getting in the way.
I have read all 71 pages of this Bill and I can say with absolute certainty that this is nothing but special interests garbage and does nothing for the people at all. Once again I could get behind a real 2 year study and people being able to grow their own for their own personal use but this Bill is not even close to being that.
People should research it themselves and make up their own mind though:

Be careful with legalizing psychedelics for medical use. This can be used to create "trannies" and to brainwash people.
I'm for the use and availability of psychedelics and they should be decriminalized but seriously, there are bad people in the medical community who will turn this into MK-ULTRA
