Permastickied until the election
We think nationally a lot, but let's talk local for a bit!
Rules for this thread are pretty simple. Top-level posts must be structured as such or they'll be deleted:
[STATE]
[COUNTY/CITY/etc (if applicable)]
[Position title. School board, police chief, dog catcher, tax hike, etc.]: -Who is the MAGA candidate(s), or Yes/No to the initiative. Please include an explanation (and link, if possible)
Example:
NORTH DAKOTA
FARGO COUNTY
Police Chief:
-Deputy Dangle. He puts rollerskating hookers away and doesn't afraid of anything
School tax increase
-Vote NO. They're failing our students, churning out rollerskating hookers. They'll use the money for rayciss training anyway.
If you're looking for advice for your state/county, ctrl-F and search for it. If nothing comes up, do some research and advise others!

Following for updates on amendment 4
Anything that makes it harder for the democrats to change the state constitution (if they ever get power again) is a win in my book, no matter how hard it would be to get 60% on two consecutive ballots.
On amendment 4, I feel that can go either or direction.
Yeah, if anyone has any good insight, I’m more than happy to read it.
Yea.. my thinking is. On one hand we have a second chance at killing a bad bill.
On the other, corporate interests also get a second chance at killing a good bill.
Difference is the bad people have a hella lot more money to spend on negative ad campaigns.
I do think FPL was apart of that amendment, and I'm not too happy at how they intervened with the solar power structure in the state, where it doesn't power your home but u sell the electricity to them and get a rebate, but I don't know who sets the price?
My other fear would be, nothing ends up getting passed, good or bad, and theres so much time between voting, people will forget what it was, and nothing may ever get passed so we stagnant and then they go looking for a more radical solution, ie removing resident input entirely.
Those are really good points. Now I’m really leaning towards “no” on 4.
I'm voting Yes on 4, my reasoning is that it's way too easy to amend the state constitution. Most of the amendments on the ballot should be passed in the legislature, not through a constitutional amendment. That's how we got "smaller" class sizes, pregnant pigs in the constitution and felons able to vote.
My viewpoint is that there are too many dumb people and too many dumb amendments, so this can only help. Look at how many people don't know what they're voting for, I think it doesn't hurt to take two elections to make sure it doesn't harm the state.
Jesus Christ amendment 2 is awful
1 and 2 are both equally awful.
"Jungle primary" LOL. Mass had that crap too, I voted fuck no
It’s complete bullshit and am actually shocked that they’re still allowed to call it that.
