Permastickied until the election
We think nationally a lot, but let's talk local for a bit!
Rules for this thread are pretty simple. Top-level posts must be structured as such or they'll be deleted:
[STATE]
[COUNTY/CITY/etc (if applicable)]
[Position title. School board, police chief, dog catcher, tax hike, etc.]: -Who is the MAGA candidate(s), or Yes/No to the initiative. Please include an explanation (and link, if possible)
Example:
NORTH DAKOTA
FARGO COUNTY
Police Chief:
-Deputy Dangle. He puts rollerskating hookers away and doesn't afraid of anything
School tax increase
-Vote NO. They're failing our students, churning out rollerskating hookers. They'll use the money for rayciss training anyway.
If you're looking for advice for your state/county, ctrl-F and search for it. If nothing comes up, do some research and advise others!
ARIZONA
STATEWIDE BALLOTS
Arizona Proposition 207, Marijuana Legalization Initiative
Eh. If you want recreational marijuana use in Arizona, then go ahead. It will be taxed at 16%, with the revenue going to various public programs. They will be handing out licenses for marijuana establishments to individuals from "communities disproportionately impacted by the enforcement of previous marijuana laws" with the goal of social equity. So not whitey.
Arizona Proposition 208, Tax on Incomes Exceeding $250,000 for Teacher Salaries and Schools Initiative
Enacts a 3.50% income tax in addition to the existing income tax (4.5% in 2020), on income above $250,000 (single filing) or $500,000 (joint filing). Hell no. To add to that, there is already a ton of fraud here when it comes to education spending. Who knows where this new money would end up. Please vote no. Here is some more information about 208.
Also, do some research on what happened in CO and CA before voting for 207. The Proposition was WRITTEN by the big MJ Industry from those states.
Hey dude. I’m extremely busy in a flying program. Any advice for judges down ballot?
Are you my little brother? lol.
I am not really sure how best to evaluate these judges. However...
For the Justices of the Supreme Court:
Here you can find bios for all of them.
Here you can see their judicial decisions.
And here is the judicial performance review for the three on the ballot.
For the Judges of the Court of Appeals (Division 1 and Division 2):
Here you can see their judicial decisions.
Here you can see who they were appointed by.
And here is their judicial performance reviews (links over here -> Division 1 and Division 2).
And lastly for the Judges of the Superior Court:
Here you can view their credentials/bios...
And here you can view their judicial performance reviews.
This is technically my first time voting and I haven't really been up to speed on how to research all of these people. I hope this helps however.
Thanks. Not your brother I promise. Judges are more important than people know.
My little brother is busy with a flight program as well lol.
And yes they are. I researched most of them and still ended up marking 'Yes' for almost all of them.
Vote No on 207. I have no problem with legal weed. I think it should be legal. But this prop is terrible. It is written poorly all around.
Voted yes for legal weed/207 (wife has med card) Voted no for 208
