Permastickied until the election

We think nationally a lot, but let's talk local for a bit!

Rules for this thread are pretty simple. Top-level posts must be structured as such or they'll be deleted:

[STATE]

[COUNTY/CITY/etc (if applicable)]

[Position title. School board, police chief, dog catcher, tax hike, etc.]: -Who is the MAGA candidate(s), or Yes/No to the initiative. Please include an explanation (and link, if possible)

Example:

NORTH DAKOTA

FARGO COUNTY

Police Chief:

-Deputy Dangle. He puts rollerskating hookers away and doesn't afraid of anything

School tax increase

-Vote NO. They're failing our students, churning out rollerskating hookers. They'll use the money for rayciss training anyway.

If you're looking for advice for your state/county, ctrl-F and search for it. If nothing comes up, do some research and advise others!

COLORADO:

DENVER/STATEWIDE:

US Senator:

-Cory Gardner R.: Lets not put Hickenstoopid in public office again.

US House CO-1:

-Shane Bolling R.: The only Republican in CO-1. Degette is one of these entrenched leftists that needs to go.

Amendment B:

-repeal the Gallagher Amendment

-Vote NO: a yes vote will likely raise the residential assessment rate above the current 29%: repealing the Gallagher amendment requires that residential and nonresidential property tax revenues to make up the same portion of total statewide property taxes as when the Gallagher Amendment was adopted in 1982. a NO vote continues to force the state to follow it's balanced budget requirements.

Amendment C:

-reduce the number of years a nonprofit organization must operate in Colorado to apply for a bingo-raffle license from five to three; and ease compensation and organization membership restrictions for bingo-raffle workers.

-Vote NO: while, it seems an easy yes, the meat and potatoes of this removes the requirement that people that organize and run these charitable events be volunteers; they would be required to be employees with all required benefits; minimum wage salaries, etc.

Amendment 76:

-change constitutional language to specify that only U.S. citizens age 18 and older are eligible to participate in Colorado elections.

-Vote YES: Colorado currently allows minors to vote even in primary elections if they turn 18 by election; also why wasn't this already in our state's constitution?

Amendment 77:

-allow voters in the three gaming cities — Black Hawk, Central City, and Cripple Creek — to increase or remove current bet limits and approve any new casino games in each city; and expand the current use of casino tax revenue for community colleges to include student retention and completion programs.

-Vote NO: we have this authority at the individual state level; there are no other revenues for this community college spending should the casino revenue decrease.

Proposition EE:

-increases the taxes on cigarettes and tobacco; and applies the same taxes on vaping products.

-Vote YES: why weren't vaping products already under this tax?

Proposition 113:

-enter Colorado into an agreement among states to elect the President of the United States by a national popular vote once enough states join the National Popular Vote Interstate Compact

-Vote NO: HELL NO: this forces Colorado to give it's electors to the person who receives the highest national popular vote total. Regardless if they carried the state or not. Why the hell would anyone vote for this?

Proposition 114:

-requires the state to begin the process of reintroduction of gray wolves to the environment.

-Vote NO: There is no need for a government run program for this. They are already coming back on their own. I have seen them myself in the Colorado back country.

Proposition 115:

-prohibits abortion after 22 weeks, except when an abortion is immediately required to save the life of a pregnant woman

-Vote YES: reminder this is a prohibition on abortions after 22 weeks; a no vote will allow this practice to continue.

Proposition 116 :

-reduces the state income tax from 4.63% to 4.55%.

-Vote YES: personal income taxes should go away entirely, but until we have more republicans in office, we have to start somewhere.

Proposition 117:

-requires voter approval for new state government-owned businesses, called enterprises, if the enterprise’s revenue from fees over its first five years exceeds $100 million; and require that specific language be included on the ballot when voters are asked to approve enterprises

-Vote YES: these government run enterprises are not currently subject to TABOR and like all government run programs here, they should be.

Proposition 118:

-requires employers and employees in Colorado to pay a payroll premium to finance paid family and medical leave insurance benefits beginning January 1, 2023 for up to 12 weeks of full paid leave.

-Vote NO: do not vote for payroll taxes for this, we already have plenty of federal and state given required time.
